Slowly coming together

I’ve been forcing myself to clean it up… it’s about the last thing I want to do, honestly… but I NEED a place I can actually WORK in.  I’ve gotten the table cleaned off, and moved over, and it’s perfect, and there’s a little walkway to the printers, which works perfectly.  Now I’m just cleaning up the carpet under where the table used to be, so I can move the larger table w/ the scraprack over, and HOPEFULLY, I will be able to use it much more efficiently too.  A big part of my problem previously was that I just wasn’t comfortable at the big table that sits high.  My feet had nowhere to go, and I quickly tired when I sat there.  My computer chair will be MUCH more comfortable, and likely more ergonomic, which means longer scrapping time.  The desk and the 4 foot table form an "L" shape, so I don’t have to leave when I want to do my journaling.  I WILL have to get up to go GET the journaling, but that’s all right, I imagine the break will do me good.  I still gotta attack the minutiae though.  I have to sort through the boxes, and put it all away.  HOWEVER, I am hoping that having the scraprack closer will mean it’s easier to sort things into, though one thing I have to figure out is how I can put more stuff into it without having to add another base, which I cannot possibly do.  I don’t have the room on the table, and I don’t have the money right now… I have to make do, as I have been.  I COULD cry though, because a few months back, Jerry offered me some hanging file storage, and I told him I didn’t need it…well, guess what?  It would have been PERFECT for my 12×12 paper!  I just found an article explaining how to do it last night, but he said he’d given them away already…and they were about 35 dollars each, so not cheap.  Sigh.  So now I gotta figure out how to go about getting one or two of those, because my file cabinets have fallen apart, and they’re just particle board, so I don’t believe they can be repaired.  And they’re from Target, which has an absolutely CRAPPY return policy…even on something that’s broken.  If it were Walmart, I’d take them back, no problem and get replacements.  I’ve had them for maybe a year, but they should have lasted MUCH longer than that.  Much longer.

I gotta quit shifting piles, but I’m just not there yet.  So I will keep shifting piles for now.  I WILL however, have to get it all into the scraprack sooner or later… preferably sooner.  I mean, I have this expensive, fantastic organizational system, and I get some use out of it, but I just have SO MUCH STUFF…. so much.  So it’s going to take some time and effort to crawl through all the boxes and empty them out.  It might be a better idea to get it all out at once and sort it into piles and then into scraprack pages, and then into the scraprack.  Sigh… what an involved process this is…. but I imagine that if it helps me scrap better, then it’s probably worth it.  Though I am NOT the kind of scrapper who MUST have THAT paper or embellishment for whatever page.  I’ve been known to have an idea, not be able to find the supplies I meant to use, and simply did something else instead, which worked out fine.  Though one of those pages, I recently had to throw away the paper I meant to originally use, and THAT was an awful waste all things considered.  It so happened to be paper I meant to use on a New Year’s Eve layout, so I could definitely have used it this year… had it not gotten bent up and unusable.  Now, THAT is when the disorganization gets frustrating… and it’s not something I habitually do, but I have been getting worse and worse about it, and I’m noticing more and more things getting ruined.  I HATE wasting money.  I truly do.  It makes me cringe.  But lately, I don’t know… my lazy side has been getting in control, and it’s causing serious issues.

I hate to leave it half done like this, but man, I’m TIRED.  I think I’m just going to head to bed, and I’ll deal with the rest of this in the morning.  I still have to clean the rest of the floor, disassemble the scraprack, move the table, and reassemble the scraprack.  UGH.  And I hope to GOD it fits…I should measure it.  But it occurs to me that the reason it’s not there in the first place is because it doesn’t fit.  However, all it will do is block some cupboards, so I may just take the things out of those cupboards, store them elsewhere, and let them be blocked.  Better to have the scraprack here and lose a little cupboard space.

Thankfully, I do have plenty of inserts for the scraprack, so it will make it easier to put it all in.  I just have to get to it already!  I almost did a page on my new table, but I need to finish this whole thing up before I start a new project, or even pull one that’s half finished out to finish… honestly, I’m having to really restrain myself from putting stuff on the table… it already has a box of scraprack inserts, which I suppose makes sense actually, because I will probably use the table to help organize as well.  And, I’ve got to clean off the "old" table so the kids can use it for homework, and I was considering putting the sizzix up there as well so I could do my die cutting there… eyelet setting too, because the flimsy 4 foot table won’t be good for eyelet setting, I need a stable surface for that.

Okay, it’s 2 a.m…. off to bed.  I also need to clear off my computer.  It’s just incredibly full.  But I have very little idea how to go about it, so I’m a touch stymied.  Maybe Jerry will have a thought.

Good night.

I’m looking for ideas for one certain pictures. I’m sure I have perfect paper, etc., I just can’t bring them together to do the picture justice. It’s a picture with four generations of family in it…My Aunt, my cousin, my cousin’s daughters, and one of them is pregnant with the 4th generation. It’s a beautiful picture but nothing seems right for it. I’ve tried simple and a little more fancy, thenlots of embellishments..nada seems right. Blah

I’m a pile shifter my self. Our computer area bugs the CRAP outta me but I have no idea what to do about it.
