WooooW!!!!!!!

What a Christmas this was!!!  We couldn’t wrap/hide the Barbie house, so we left it in the middle of the room… and they LOVED it.  So that was first.  Hm… maybe I should start at the beginning?  Because of course, I didn’t really say much about last night, if anything.

Oh, man, we had an EVENTFUL Christmas Eve, complete with a trip to the E.R.!!!  Yes… the Emergency Room.  So, let’s see… left Jerry at home with Cassie (Jane’s daughter) and Alex, because we can only fit 7 in the van, and Cassie needed a nap anyway, and Alex was still asleep.  Took the scrap bag, so of COURSE that means McDonalds (or Burger King… whatever!  LOL)  Jane went with of course, and this time, so did Becca… not wanting to miss a minute with Jane.  Well… me either when it comes down to it!  So I did a page, they played, except for Sydni, who kept sitting with us until we ordered her to go play…the third time.  Even Jane notices that they just ignore us when we tell them to do something…

So anyway, all was fine, until we were getting ready to go.  Jane went up on the play structure, and I’m not sure HOW it happened, but Sydni hit her shoulder, HARD.  Hard enough to bruise, and it didn’t feel… right.  So we filled out an accident report, I called the insurance to find out if I could take her to Urgent care… Nope, have to take her to the E.R.  So that we did, all the kids in tow.  Thank goodness for the cell phone… never know how I live(d) without one (I just did… you make do!)  They got her in right away, then said they’d get X-rays, so I took everyone home but Jane and Bec, who stayed with Syd.  There are days when I just bless Bec for staying with the kids and whatnot…  we didn’t have to drag them all into the E.R. because Bec stayed in the van with them (really, just Nik, Sammi and Alex… Nik belongs to Jane too.)  So I went home, fed Alex, and went back.  They’d already looked at the X-rays, but hadn’t said anything about them, so we waited.  Right after we’d brought Syd in, some other family had brought in someone with a 50/50 chance of living… sigh.  That was all we knew about it.  Their whole family took up practically the entire waiting room though… what a way to spend Christmas Eve!  So they finally called us in… and there was nothing wrong with Syd’s shoulder, it was just bruised up.  Whew, sigh of relief, but I think it took 2 hours to figure this out.  Oh well.  So we came home, ate dinner which Jerry had made, and then tried to convice the kids they needed to go to bed if Santa was going to come.  We put down all the younger kids, but Syd and Bec just wanted time with their mother.  Well… we ended up going to Walgreens, it being the ONLY store open that hour on Christmas Eve… OMG.  Let me say that again.  OH MY GOD.  We had taken Alex… the parking lot was PACKED.  There were NO carts… the carts they did have were all locked up at the wheel or something… they would NOT move.  So I carried Alex, and Jane carried her car seat.  I got a bunch of candy…and I found these FANTASTIC tins of popcorn with Hannah Montana and High School Musical on them.  WHOOO!  So I got one of those each for my girls.  We got candy for Nik and Cassie, and earlier had figured out some other gifts for them to open this morning so they’d have SOMETHING, and Santa wouldn’t overlook them entirely (okay, Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jerry!  Whatever!  LOL)  So the popcorn ended up being "Santa’s" gift to the girls…well, Shabree, who actually knows better, but is totally willing to suspend belief and get caught up in the magic, sweet little girl.  We missed going to see Santa this year.  So we put everything under the tree, which was 2 gifts each for Nik and Cassie, and 3 to 4 for each of the girls and Jerry.  I got one gift, but it was a GREAT gift, a new Dance Dance Revolution DVD.

Eh… this has been here for the last few hours, and since it doesn’t seem like I’m really going to have time to finish it, I’m going to post it.

Merry Christmas all!
