I’m having a baby shower! Please visit:

It’s definitely getting to be Spring around here.  Sunday, we went to the girl’s family, their cousin had an Easter party at her house, and it was just HOT.  It was nice, but it had to be in the upper 70s, and I was light headed when I went inside from the heat.  Plus, she had a cat, and I’m allergic, so I got some benadryl, and it was messing with me big time, making me drowsy and tired, and I suspect, part of why I was light headed.  We stayed about 3 hours or so, and I was just EXHAUSTED by the time we left.  When I got home, I laid down, didn’t sleep, just rested, and I felt SO much better.
I took a nap yesterday (and read a book, which is why I didn’t post, I never even got on the computer once, I don’t think), so I’m SORT of caught up on my sleep.  I had gone to bed "early" the night before (midnight, if you consider that early.  I do.)  but I woke up at 4 or 5, and when it was time for the girls to get up, I was still up, so I let Jerry sleep in a bit, and I took care of getting them off to school.  I woke them up earlier than they normally get up, so they’d have time to mess around, which worked out really well.  Still, I shooed them out the door at 7:20, and at 7:35 they were STILL here.  Sydni has managed to break her helmet, the one I JUST bought in October, but Becca loaned her a helmet (I don’t know what good it did though, because it was so loose that if she’d fallen off her bike, the helmet would have fallen right off…. I mean, what the HECK is the point of wearing a helmet if you’re not going to adjust it so it FITS?   I told her, I’m not going to buy her a new helmet yet again.  Not when she got a new Bratz helmet for her birthday, which I think though her birthday is in Sept, she got the helmet in August when we had her party.  Then THAT got stolen, so I bought a generic helmet.  Which in a fit of anger, she threw on the ground, and since then, it’s been cracking and piecing off…til now when it’s evidently completely broken.  Shabree ALSO lost her helmet, so bought her a new one, but then the old one was found, now she’s using that, and the new one is where?  I don’t know if anyone knows…  Syd would be better off using THAT helmet.  It just upsets me that the helmets are not being taken care of AT ALL.

Okay, enough of THAT rant.

I don’t think the woman I was speaking to ever sent me the Bible she said she would, but I’m not sure she had time either.  Linda offered to send me one "from her religion"  I asked,  "What’s the difference?"  She tells me, "It’s easier to read."  LOL!  I"LL TAKE IT!  She tells me it’s in plain English, it’s a New World Translation.  Sounds pretty good to me actually.  And Rick is going to send me a Book of Mormon.  Hey, you can’t be educated too much, I don’t think.   Linda is also going to send me some pamphlets, but she wasn’t sure if I’d like them.  I told her to send me whatever she thought I’d be able to use.  I kind of identify with the Jehovah’s Witnesses.  I’m not joining ANY church though.  I don’t think it would be good for me to join a particular church, because I actually need a broader overview of many of them… they each have their own "viewpoint" and I need to be more… what’s the word?  Man, I’m getting tired.  Since the age of 18, I’ve felt God was leading me… some of it of course, was at MY pace, but lately, I’m feeling that there is a time crunch.  I was kind of disappointed when the Bible didn’t arrive… I wasted SO MUCH paper trying to print out Revelations, that I don’t want to print anything else out, and I have such a hard time sitting at the computer for long periods of time, that I’m not going to feel comfortable trying to read at my computer.  As it is, I printed out Revelations, and then did nothing with it…. :(.  I put it in my notebook, but I didn’t read it.  I GUESS I’ve been kind of busy, but I managed to read an entire book yesterday… fluff, but still.  I’m hesitant to read it, and I don’t know WHY.  I guess I’m waiting on the study materials I’ve been promised.

Bec got a 50 dollar gift card to Wal mart from my mother, and so we went to Walmart tonight, and she spent it all… she bought a nail kit for buffing, grinding, drying, etc… and a BUNCH of earrings.  Me?  I bought nail polish!  SHAME ON ME!  But OMG, I LOVED the colors, they were by OPI, which is a good brand of nail polish, and there were a couple of colors on clearance for 5 dollars… so I caved.  Then as we were leaving, we realized we’d forgotten to buy chips for Jerry (for making nachos), and I’d wanted nail polish remover (I haven’t had any in like 5 years… or longer.  I keep forgetting to buy it, seriously!  I always have to let my nail polish chip off… though I’ve long since stopped putting nail polish on my fingernails, since it seems to weaken them.)  So we stopped at Rite Aid, and lo and behold, Thrifty brand ice cream was on sale for 1.99…. if you’ve never had that brand of ice cream, and you can… oh man, it’s heavenly good.  But wait for a sale.  I also got cotton pads for removing the nail polish from my toes… it’s red currently.  I’m not sure if I’m going to put pink on them, for Spring, or a REALLY pretty shade of purple I got.  Right now, they are bright, fire engine red…which is a color I both love, and that looks REALLY good on me :).  I consider myself very lucky to be able to wear bright red (or bright orange, green, etc… all the colors that just scream at you, lol… I LOVE those kinds of colors.  I’m a very bright kind of person… and I HATE this new trend of brown and pink.  YUCK!  Oddly enough, it seems to have hit scrapbooking, now clothes.  EGads.  Of course, my children LOVE it.)
Bec not only got the gift card to Walmart, she also got a Visa gift card, and a couple of Target gift cards.  Lucky girl.  She bought an ant farm, and jewelry, and then junk food.  I got her to spend some of  it on Jerry and me… lol.  I asked her to buy us some diet dr pepper, which has become a treat, because we usually buy Dr Thunder, which is a pretty good imitation, but imperfect, and sometimes too "licorice" tasting (yuck).  She still "owes" Jerry a Starbucks coffee (not that he really wants this…)  She bought me a pair of purple hoop earrings that were on clearance at Walmart as well.   I’ll take it… usually she’s pretty selfish, so I’m letting her be non selfish.  Though I have to admit, I wasn’t going to let her into my nail polish before I got to use it, not to mention, it was expensive!  I bought GOOD stuff… for once, lol…. I really like OPI.  I still have some green nail polish, I think… bought it years ago, but I actually don’t know how it’s held up, because I haven’t used it in awhile.  I should see.  I think I gave her most of my nail polish already, and an older makeup set bought after Christmas a few years ago… I don’t wear make up all that often, and didn’t really want to see it go to waste.
I just redid my toenails…went with the pink.  I’ve got ONE fingernail I can’t quit chewing on… OLD habit I haven’t done in years, but lately, I can’t seem to stay away from one thumbnail long enough to let it grow out.  I actually had stayed away from it for a good week or two, and the other night it was just bugging me, so I started chewing on it and before I could stop myself, I’d chewed the whole darn thing off.  That, and the whole issue with nail polish seeming to weaken my fingernails (which will grow really long normally, if I let them)  I don’t want to paint my fingernails.  But I DO want to use this purple nail polish.  Eh, let it go.  It’ll look HORRIBLE on the thumbnail.

I am going to get OFF the computer, I think.  I’m going to see about going to bed… or maybe jut talking to Jerry.  About the only time he really has to just talk is late at night.  Usually I’m fine with just hanging out around him.  It doesn’t FEEL like it does when he used to leave and go to work.  It’s nice.
It’s 11 p.m. and Bec is still up.  This is not good.  Mmmm, maybe she did go to bed… still, it’s really late.  I feel like *I* should have been in bed an hour ago myself.
Jerry sounds like he’s cooking something.  We had Pizza Hut for dinner… we wouldn’t have, except Syd had a coupon for a free pizza, that she then LOST… I had to cancel her pizza, but I really wanted a stuffed crust pizza bad by that time, so I went ahead and got the pizza, but I swear I used a gallon of gas going to get it.   I’m not going to do that again any time soon… but I HAVE been craving stuffed crust pizza, I must admit, so I’m not entirely sorry.  But if and when she finds that coupon, she’s going to find herself waiting to get her pizza.  She was SO upset that she didn’t get her pizza, and while I don’t blame her for being upset… she should have held ON to that coupon instead of losing it.  The sad thing is, she JUST showed it to me today.  But since we only got one large, I’m a little hungry.  More thirsty, but still, I’m a little, tad bit, hungry.

Okay, I really need to get to bed… but before I go…. we decorated eggs on Saturday.  I’m not even sure WHY, except that a couple of years ago, I got about 10 egg coloring kits, lol for about 25 cents each, so we still have a TON of egg coloring kits.  We weren’t able to hunt for those eggs though, we never had time.  So now we have about 18 boiled eggs that we need to do something with.  Fortunately, we LOVE egg salad and deviled eggs.  But I am SO not feeling like doing much of anything these days, that the thought of making deviled eggs tires me out.  I made broccoli and rice for the potluck on Sunday, and I’m glad I did… as I told everyone here, hardly anyone ever makes a main or side dish for a potluck, so there’s never enough to eat… I mean, it’s all salads and desserts… and okay, those are fine, but not for a whole meal.  Thankfully, Jerry bought minute rice, so that made it MUCH easier, though the recipe itself DOES call for 2 cups of uncooked rice, which can be difficult to figure out how much minute rice… I end up using somewhere between 4-6 cups, we used 4 on Sunday… and it was good.  We brought a LITTLE home, but that’s all right.  Jerry said he didn’t notice where any of it got left on plates.  Broccoli and rice is actually pretty easy once you get past the rice.   I’m just so doggone tired.  And on Sunday, when all was said and done, I was exhausted.  Someone even commented that I looked miserable (I was, and I wasn’t.)

Okay, I’m done.

Hm…. wonder if I should take picture(s) of my toes?  I wonder if my toenails would be something stupid to scrapbook?  In an "About Me" book?  I have been toying with the thought of doing one those… we’ll see.
