I’m having a HECK of a time with my printer(s) and trying to get this Bible to print correctly. I intended to go to bed an hour ago, because I desperately need sleep. Of course, in addition to all of that, I started a diary entry, and lost it because FIrefox decided to not come up. Dang it. I don’t even remember what I wrote. I’ve decided to read Revelations, I was getting bored with John… I’ve actually read John a BUNCH of times before, years ago, admittedly, but I’d rather read something that the Catholic church DIDN’T repeatedly have us read, year after year around Easter. I hope like heck this thing decides to finally print out correctly. I deleted printers, I reset the whole printing system… it was driving me NUTS, I could not get two pages to print correctly, and I still don’t know if it’s going to print correctly or not. I guess my test is now.
So the people in Mexico ARE trying to screw us. They want to give us 20 thousand, and then IF they sell the villa, the BUYERS have to pay us the rest. (yay, it printed! FINALLY!) We’re going to take the 20, we’ll fight for the rest later. Bird in the hand….
So anyway, I’m being sent a copy of the Bible, which at this point, is a GOOD thing on two counts. One is that I want GOD to SHOW me what he wants me to read… I’ll just let the book fall open to a page and start reading, and two, I’ve wasted SO much printer paper as it is trying to print various books out, it’s getting costly. Pretty frustrating actually. I know what *I* want to read…which is Revelations, because I REALLY feel the "end of the world" (as we know it) is coming pretty quickly… but I also just want to read the prophecies for myself. I think Revelations is a fascinating book. I started to read it when I was in my teens, and never finished. I don’t know that I felt like I SHOULD read it, but I couldn’t tell you why now.
I also asked Rick for a copy of the Book of Mormon, which he said he’d be HONORED to get :)… miss him. I really didn’t know what to make of Rick when he first got here, and I didn’t quite trust him either. Now, he’s "Uncle" Rick to the girls, though Becca, well, he pisses her off…Shabree adores him. Sydni, I’m not sure HOW she feels about Rick. He can be an odd sort. I WILL say that. I also asked Linda to send me whatever she thought I could use, she said she had a CD she’d print off some things for me. I am wondering if I should have her have Kendall just copy the CD for me. I’m not going to call tonight to ask though, we were on the phone for something like 2 hours last night, just catching up! I won’t get to sleep for ages if I call her, and I am seriously sleep deprived. I also got an offer from Jerry’s other business partner, Josie, to make me copies of his vast library of Bible study material. I’m going to be inundated, but that’s QUITE all right by me. I’ll sort it all out. Hopefully Linda remembers… if not, next time the Jehovah’s Witnesses come by, I’ll hit them up ;). Seriously, I WILL. I love Linda, but she can be a total flake. She’s promised me so much stuff… and I’ve yet to get it. Which is okay, I just know that I can ask her for stuff, and I may, or I may not get it.
Let’s see… last but not least… been working with Shabree on her alphabet and her sight words, and she’s getting MUCH better with both. It’s a little funny though… with her sight words, she can LOOK at a word, and not "get it" but if you spell it out to her, she has it right away. Not all of them, of course, but some. Like You for instance. She won’t recognize it on sight, but if I spell it out, she knows it. I THINK she doesn’t quite recognize Y yet. Actually, O may be the only letter she DOES recognize…which is why we’re working on her alphabet too. I need to get some lower case study materials for her.
Well, I’m going to get off the computer, take my Revelations, which I really intened to read tonight, and may or may not be able to now… but I’ll take it upstairs anyway. I bought a binder today to keep my study materials in… and hopefully my bible will fit in there as well. It’s just an 8×11 binder, I also bought some purple gel pens to write my notes with (and my notebook is purple as well. I love the color of purple…it represents royalty, and spirituality. I felt it a good choice for anything Christ and God related.) I am wondering if a Bible store would have anything better… I doubt it, but the binder I bought was 10 dollars, so if I could find something better for that price or less, I’d be pretty happy.
Okay, I am going to wrap up. I should probably really begin to get some of my own insights in here, but now, I really need to discipline myself and go to bed. It’s sad, because I started this whole "project" of writing and trying to print two and a half hours ago, intending to go to bed an hour and a half ago… grrrr. The best laid plans…. oh well, at least I won’t have to fight with the printer anymore. That is a GOOD thing, because I’ve actually been wasting a LOT of paper because EVERY time I printed, it tried to print as if my paper was 12 inches, and I’ve wasted a LOT of paper over the last few months on bad prints. So now it should work properly and I’ll only have to change it if I’m actually trying to print 12 inches…which these days IS rare (but I do need to buy some new ink carts for the 13 inch printer.)
