PICTURES!!!! :)

Well, I know some of you want pictures… I’m not sure if I ever wrote it here, but we started the girls in Karate back in January, so last Saturday, no the Saturday before, they had their second graduation, and went up to their orange belt.  To make a long story long, Becca wanted to be in Black Belt club, so on Wednesday I guess it was, I saw Mr Kang in his office… there’s Jay Kang, who we call Mr Kang, and his father, who doesn’t HAVE a name, lol… they’re Korean, he’s Chief Master Kang…he’s like an 8th degree black belt, so I saw Jay in his office, so I asked if I could talk to him, and I told him Becca wanted to be in the black belt club.  Well, he said the black belt club is invitation only, it’s a HUGE commitment with a 2 year contract, and another class a week, which is Becca’s and our commitment to this… but he was thinking about inviting her anyway.  Sydni, he did not feel was ready, her attention could waver, and Shabree…well, the Tiny Tigers go up and down in their interest.  But he would like to have Becca start on Friday, since that was when the Black Belt club that he wanted her to be in met.  He also said that once she got to Camo belt (camoflauge), that he’d like to put her in a teen class, but right now, there’s no teen class that has a black belt club.  So we paid for her to be in the Black Belt club, and we paid in ADVANCE.  That was so we could get a discount and her gear for free, because in Black Belt club, they learn weapons (which is why Becca wanted to be in it, lol… I’ve got quite a BOY in that girl, lol… and in a way, I’m not kidding.  She’s got SOMETHING of a dark side, but we make her keep it in check)  So we started her in Black Belt club last Friday, 5:40 p.m., OMG… I’m pretty sure this will be fine, we don’t TYPICALLY do much on Fridays anyway…afterwards we went to Hometown Buffet, which is pretty typical fair for a Friday.  (hey, say THAT 5 times fast, lol!!!!)  Oh, her class is really small right now, only 4, so that’s awesome, because there’s plenty of 1 on 1.

Oh, I almost forgot… on the previous Saturday, when they graduated, they pulled Becca up to spar with one of the ADULTS who didn’t have a sparring partner… she was proud as a peacock of herself… and she should have been.  It was quite an honor.

I LOVE Karate… it’s been really motivating for the girls.  Becca will have to keep her grades up, because there’s an expectation from the instructors that she has to… if Sydni wants to be in the black belt club, then she too will have to show some more commitment… they just have such high expectations, and while WE have high expectations, it’s NOT the same thing, and it helps take some of the pressure off of me, you know?  I have a hard time getting Bec and Syd to care about their grades, about school work, so this will be a good thing for them.  And for Shabree, when she starts school here in July, I think she’ll be more motivated to do well.  I do know that when Mr Kang was talking about manners yesterday, that Shabree, who typically HAS great manners, was showing them off yesterday, and kept doing it long after Karate was over.  So I love Karate, even if it IS a huge commitment and NOTHING ever gets done to the house on those days.  And Sydni wants me to lead a girl scout troop so she can be in girl scouts.  THAT could be fun, but could be a nightmare too… I’d better get off my butt and call the girl scout office to see what I need to do.  It won’t be Brownies, either, so I’ll have to do new classes.  I’m going to see if I can motivate some of the parents to help me out, and not just dump their kids off on me :).

So here Becca is, check out the orange and black belt, that indicates she’s in Black Belt club.  We surprised her totally, because we kept it a secret from her that we were talking about putting her into Black Belt club and had Mr Kang invite her, since it IS supposed to be invitation only, and I already knew she wanted to be in it.  She couldn’t have been happier, not to mention that we just kept telling her how proud of her we were… I mean, it was a pretty big deal that they had actually been thinking about inviting her, and it just showed her commitment.  She was SO excited… she gets her gear this week, and she can’t WAIT.

Well, I’m going to post now… I am sure I have some pictures of the baby… let me look, I’ll post one from yesterday.  Well, the one I WANTED to post of Bec and Sammi was sideways, so forget that… here’s one of just Sammi:

I guess that’s it for now… I’ve got some good pictures of Shabree doing Karate yesterday, but I really just want to post.  Hm… I didn’t even talk about today, which was a good day too…went to John’s Pizza with Linda… they got our cheeseburger pizza wrong though, but oh well.
