French or Spanish
After working for a couple of days after the new year holiday, my life is back to normal which means I have to wake up before six thirty every morning which is really hard for me especially in very cold days. Then when I back home in the afternoon, I always want to have a nap if possible, but mostly I end up doing other stuffs like coming to the internet and doing housework, so now I am having not enough sleep everyday. 🙁
Anyway, these days I am thinking about learning a foreign language. Originally I was planning to learn French as I think French is quite popular and many people are speaking French in Europe. However, my friend told me the other day that French is not as popular as before, now many people speak Spanish which is the third most spoken language all over the world after English and Mandarin. So if we want to learn a totally new foreign language, it’s better to learn Spanish.
I was a bit surprised to hear that coz I near know Spanish is getting so popular, is that true? French and Spanish mean the same for me at this point when I haven’t started learning it. They are all new and they are all symbols which I have to work hard on before I understand what they mean.
However, I want to figure out which one I should learn before I start. Once I pick up, I don’t want to give up easily. One of my friend has learnt Spanish for three years and she said Spanish is not difficult compared with Japanese. If what she said is true, then I want to give it a try, or continue my Japanese studies which I have stopped for more than three years.
After I have finished my course, I want to learn a foreign language too! Shall we learn together? Once you decide when to learn a new language. please email me and tell me. My e-mail is: cylcindy@yahoo.com.hk Cindy

I think the popularity & usage of a language depends on the region. Here French is more popular because of a large French-Canadian population. But in US, Spanish is the 2nd language. I think it is important, however, to enjoy the language which one chooses..French & Spanish & English, a bit similiar…You will do fine w/ any language you choose because you are already multi-lingual!

I think continue Japanese in better.(Maybe because I am studying Japanese…) learning foreign language is different from learning other skill because you will forget if you don’t use it.frankly speaking, the effort you put would be wasted.
