Nothing much….
Well, it has been a relatively quiet end of the week and weekend. I was glad, I needed the rest, but that doesn’t leave me much to write about! I’ve discovered books by James Rollins…he is sort of along the lines of Dan Brown, with more detail, and I managed to get engrossed in one of his books and read a lot over the weekend. Saturday I literally didn’t leave the house. I did a bit of cleaning and picking up, I cooked a pork loin and made a squash casserole and a salad of arugala, a lemon vinegarette topped with Goat Cheese. Hannah, my college student, is house sitting for my Father in law and Sister in law, since they have gone to Florida for my neice’s graduation (her master’s) and are taking their time coming back. Believe it or not, my Father in law still has 2 Army buddies from WWII that are still alive and kicking and they both live in Florida, so he was having a mini-reunion with them.
Sunday I went to church, then to lunch with some friends, came home and dived back into the book again. Finished it last night and started another one. My Sister in law had loaned them to me months ago, before I got my Kindle, and because I haven’t read a book NOT on my kindle, I had forgotten these until I picked them up the other day to put them in the bookshelf and realized they weren’t mine and figured I needed to either read them and give them back or just give them back. I was hooked after the first chapter!
Today was a bit busier. I had some errands to run, and then there was a kick-off board party for members of the United Campus Ministry Board that I serve on. Classes start next Monday and I will be busy next week for sure! Tomorrow I have a pedicure scheduled, the dog has a vet appt. and I’m having dinner with a friend who’s husband is out of town and she doesn’t want to cook!
Wed. I’m moderating a Session meeting (church board) at a small church about 30 miles from here. Hey Dave, if you think GOING to Session meetings is boring, try moderating one! Even LESS fun!! But, the fun part is that I get to drive my new car on some country roads and if God is good to me, we will get out of there before dark, so I can drive fast both ways!! One thing I loved about my old Altima and this one even more, is that it handles like a sports car!! I love getting it out on a country road with a long stretch of straight and there is nothing but jack rabbits and cows (preferably not in the road…although that is always a possibility…which is why I like straight stretches of road so I can SEE) and opening it up to 90 or so!! I love curvy roads, but I’m way too chicken to go too fast on those, because there truly might be a cow, or a herd of goats in the road…and they are not good splattered on a new car!! Not to mention the deer and racoons and possums!
So, that is pretty much my week. Nothing on Thursday as of yet, and I’m getting my hair done on Friday, but that is all. This weekend will be busy with move in day stuff at the university and from then on it will be pretty well nuts for the rest of that week. So, I’m going to enjoy this week of hopefully peace and quiet!!

Sounds like you have been busy.

Sounds like life is rolling along and you are doing well. It’s good to hear! I will have to check out that author. And hey, take it easy on those roads — I didn’t know you were such a daredevil! I haven’t driven 90 mph in…. I can’t remember when!

I know about liking to opening up the car. As I travel back and forth to Tennessee on the interstate, there are a lot of times when I can open up mine–one time I looked at the speedometer and I was doing 95. But no cows, goats, or chickens on the interstate–maybe an armadillo occasionally!!

I’m having a pedicure tomorrow, too. Haven’t had one since January so my feet need some attention.

Isn’t it great to get into a good book? I’m enjoying “On Off” by Colleen McCullough. I’d be looking forward to that ride in a new car, too.

I can just see you driving fast in your new car!

…I’m like you. I don’t feel comfortable putting the pedal to the medal unless I can see for a LONG distance! I’m not sure I’ve read James Rollins but if you’re comparing him to Dan Brown…I’ll take a look see.

RYN; And it’s okay for you to be where I was, for as long as you have to be. There’s no set schedule, no universal timetable. God made us all as unique individuals, ane the healing process is different for every individual. I know you’ll get where I am now, though, one day. I’m sure of it. You don’t strike me as someone who would NOT allow yourself to grow, change, and yes, heal. 🙂

Did you get that pedicure? What colour?
