Sunday afternoon

This will not be a long entry, since the position that I take to type, is still relatively uncomfortable. According to my doctor, I have a "sprained neck". I think that is the proper diagnosis for what is commonly called "Whiplash". Mine is more in the lower part of my neck, hence the effect on my arms and shoulders. I do love my doctor…I have to have the only doctor in the world that sat with me in church this morning, and when she realized I was struggling to hold the hymnal, took it out of my hands, and shared hers with me!! It was almost funny.  I started out holding it as you are taught to hold any piece of music you are singing…you know, sort of up and out in front of you. Well, THAT didn’t work after about 30 seconds….so I tried dropping it down to rest on the top of the pew in front of me, which required that I look down at it. That didn’t work either…so I tried raising it again, and that is when JoAnn took it out of my hands and shared hers. THAT worked!!

The adjustor is on his way. He is coming from OKC and apparently has to be in Dallas tomorrow morning, so called and asked if he could stop on his way down today. I agreed, and he just called and said he had a flat in a town about half way between, and that it would be awhile before he got here. Seems like a nice enough fellow, we shall see what he says about the car. Again, I know what it will cost to fix it, but if he totals it, they will have to pay me it’s worth before the wreck which is more, but if they are using high end figures and big city prices, it is possible that they will total it. I’m not sure which one I want. Part of me just wants it fixed and be done with it, and part of me thinks that I would just be better off buying something new anyway, and now would be a good time to do that…I guess I have to wait and see what they offer….

I am currently sitting here listening to my poor dog bark. He wants in really badly, and I understand that, it is VERY hot. But, unfortunatly, my little college girl that lives with me, threw away a piece of a package of bacon that was old…not remembering that my dog will dig anything that smells remotely like bacon out of the trash and eat it.  So, since he has eaten 3 slices of raw bacon, I suspect that it may play havoc with his intestinal tract and I have no desire to clean up any messes of that sort. So, he is relagated to outside for the rest of the day and night. He has plenty of shade and plenty of water, but he still doesn’t like it out there!!

Well, that is about all I’ve got for y’all today, which as noted by the last paragraph,  ain’t much. Enjoy what is left of your weekend!

Hope your neck is feeling better. RYN: I’ve never tried roasting green beans. I’ll have to try it. It sounds delicious. Have you ever tried roasting asparagus? That’s really good, too.
