Weird dream

Mama and I had to rescue somebody I knew very well.  Maybe my daughter, not sure.  Mama looked a little older than she does now, but she was 98 years old, instead of 56.  I thought I was 34, at first.  We tried to rescue this woman, but she pretty much rescued herself.  Only saw the back of the woman’s head, never her face.  Long dark hair.  While we were trying to rescue her, Mama said we needed to walk up and get something, can’t remember what.  We both went up this long, long, uphill sidewalk thing, talking while we went.  I told her she’d be 100 before we got to the top.   I was right!  She was 100 when we got to the top!!!!  Then I realized I was really almost 80 myself, but we both looked just about the same as we do at 34 and 56.

At the top of this sidewalk, we did something, can’t remember what.  Then, we were magically back where the girl needed to be rescued.  I had threatened somebody’s son for misbehaving, and Mama was typing into a computer to someone.  She said to be honest, so I admitted I had threatened the man’s son.  She was standing, even though there were two chairs.  I was dangling from a ledge, just above her, unable to reach the chairs and afraid to fall down the short distance to the ground.

Suddenly we were in a different place…a car, looking at the place we’d just been, watching the girl we were just about to rescue climb up a ladder (that hadn’t been there before) and free herself.  Memaw was here, too, in the car.  Later, I realized Memaw, who must’ve been about 130 but looked YOUNGER than she does at 88, was driving the car when we left.  We went to Memaw’s house.

Mary Helen, who looked about the same but must have been older, too, started telling Memaw something.  Memaw got upset at MH.  Memaw was a bit grumpy in the dream, so she kinda went off on MH.  She needed a walker in this dream, but not her wheelchair, like in real life.  While carrying in groceries (no idea where they came from), she dropped some coffee filters all over the place.  They got wet (don’t know how), and stuck to everything.  MH commented on Memaw’s window not being safe for Memaw to live alone anymore, and Memaw countered with, "I had them put in a Mexican window, so the damn thing is safe now!"  I have no idea what that meant.

Next thing I know, Mama and I, still older but looking younger, are in a concrete garage-looking place, sweeping up coffee filters that were wet.  They looked almost invisible.  So we ran around collecting them by hand, after a few unsuccessful tries with the broom.

I don’t remember much more.  Guess that’s when I woke up.  Mama will have a field day with this one!
