It comes in threes
My Mikey, I love you

They always say that death comes in threes. Well, that’s certainly been the case here, lately.
First of all, unbeknownst to us, Lola’s uncle Charles died. We were in the dark about that one until yesterday. He had cancer of some kind. I don’t know what kind.
Then there was another one we didn’t know about until the day before yesterday. Our friend Christina lost her grandson to violence. He was 21 years old, poor boy. Someone shot him in the head and left him for dead on a street here in Waco. This one has affected us a little more, I think.
Before that, I found out – on time – that a teacher in my high school was killed in a motorcycle accident. She hadn’t been one of my teachers, but she was the mother of a friend of MH’s and mine. This one has me sad, too, because I actually knew Mrs. Ivie.
So it came in threes. Again.
This life is a funny thing.
Love to all,
Jack
