Perpetrator

My Mikey, I love you

Far from being a victim, I am an unwitting-yet-still-guilty perpetrator.

I took someone from a life where he was a mother, an activist, and generally pretty happy, and I gave him a rotten, horrible spouse who doesn’t have any sense, has a messed-up family, and now we live in shack behind someone’s house.  My own fucking grandmother, who hates me because she knows what I REALLY am.

And I’ve dragged Mikey et al down to my level.  Some nice deed, huh?

It doesn’t matter that I didn’t mean to.  It’s like manslaughter…an accident, but still a price must be paid.  And it is, and I deserve it.

I’m not a victim, so I won’t complain anymore.

Occasionally, I will say almost exactly what you wrote (minus the Nanny part of course) and John will yell at me: “I’m here because I WANT to be here, with you. No matter how hard things get, this is better then life without you!” I think Mikey feels the same way. I can’t resist throwing some Mumma wisedome in either. When ever I get to hard on myself, she always tells me that having a hard time is NOT a crime. John says unless you kidnapped Mikey at gun point, then you’re certainly no perpetrator. 😛 LOTS AND LOTS OF HUGS AND KISSES!!!!!!!!!!!! david. (and John too)
