Darling Jack,

Mama knows you miss your Michael, or your Mikey, as you call him.  He is supposed to call us any time now, but do not get your nose bent out of joint if he does not.  If your noise gets bent, I shall promptly bend it back, as I am doing just now.

You know this man loves you, dear boy.  Everyone who knows us knows this.  It is only a babysitting assignment keeping us apart, and then we can talk after celebrating Suzi’s birthday today.  Do not call him now, as you wish to do.  If the children are napping, perhaps your call would be what wakes them.

We shall ALL survive this, and do not think otherwise for one single moment, dear boy.  I shall not allow you to entertain bad thoughts any longer.  When you get upset, instead of my WANTING to come out, I shall DO IT.  Lately, Betty has been slipping past us.  That cannot be allowed, and we all know this.  We also know very well WHY Betty cannot come out.

Now lift up your head and march on with the day.  You told Michael earlier that you refuse to be sad.  Live up to your words, dear one.  Do not fail him again.

Mama is keeping a watch on things while we are apart.  I should hope you know by now that when I am in control, things will go all right.  I shall force the body through these times, as there is only one measley week left to get through until we can touch you.

I love you dear boy.  Jack misses you terribly.
