I Adore You… I Want To Follow You…
So. Heeeere we go, there’s a bunch of stuff.
I got a new dresser (which is still in pieces in its boxes on my bedroom floor), and new speakers (with a subwoofer that has already commenced annoying my family exactly as I was hoping for). I also have straight hair. Chemically straightened hair, that is. I currently love my hair dresser beyond all possible imagining.
I was sitting in the chair before she washed my hair before treating it and she said, "Are you sure you want to do this? You really want this?" All I could do was laugh. I’ve known her since I was about 13, and she knows how much I hate my natural curls. So she looked over at the other hair dresser in the salon and said, "Can you believe she’s going to straighten this?" while holding up a lock of my hair – which was curly and annoying me as always, frizzing slightly as it usually does and being a general pain in the ass. They both sighed at me, and shook their heads, and then she tipped me back and began The Process. The Process involves: washing hair, putting on first treatment goo, sitting as still as possible for 15 – 20 minutes while first treatment goo sets in, rinsing for 10 minutes under divinely warm water while receiving head massage, putting on second treatment goo, sitting (again) as still as possible for 15 – 20 minutes while second treatment goo sets in, and rinsing for 10 minutes again. The Process is long, but fully worthwhile.
Anyways, $130 later, I’ve got long, smooth, shiny, straight hair. It looks pretty much perfect right now. I’ll try to remember to take pictures soon.
Right. Onto the important stuff. I’m accomplishing more on the list, bit by bit. I’ve decided to start a list of what I’m taking on the trip soon. And I have to make up an itinerary for my family, since they demand to know where I’m staying and what I’m doing and all that jazz.
It turns out that my mom and aunt are going to San Francisco in September, from the 5th to the 10th, during which time a weekend occurs. Maybe Erik will spend the night over that time… That’d be nice. Don’t tell my family though, okay?
My cousins and other aunt are coming into town tomorrow evening for birthday gift giving and general amusement. I have to work Saturday (7 am – 3 pm) and Sunday (8 am – 4 pm) this weekend, which sucks majorly, but I can’t get out of it. I’d love to call in sick. Hopefully it won’t be too insane, being that it’s a long weekend, and maybe that means a lot of people will have gone out of town.
Anyways, I should get to bed, but before I do, the list, yet again updated, but only slightly…
