*A Place To Call Your Own As We Drift Into Zone…

Yesterday, Erik brought me my new 500GB hard-drive, transferred everything from my original hard-drive onto the new one (and I mean everything – every last file, every picture, song, video, program – everything) and put it back together in my silly little Dell computer shell.  I say ‘shell’ because he already added 1GB of ram that I bought about a month and a half ago, and heaven only knows what we’ll change next.  He thinks (and I’m considering it) that I should use my Future Shop gift cards on a new set of speakers.

Anyways, my computer goes ‘zoom’ now, but silently, and without getting hot.  Or even warm for that matter, which is kind of nice too.

Also, last night, while the files were transferring from my original hard-drive to his laptop, we went and saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which kicked a sick amount of ass.  That movie rocked my socks.  Well, I wasn’t wearing socks, but if I had been, they’d sure as hell have been rocked right off my cute little feet.

I’m listening to a pile of Party Ben mashups that Erik loaded onto my computer, and they’re pretty awesome too.  I just heard Snow Patrol and the Police, and now it’s the Clash and the Killers.  This is super.

In other news, we had to move the roadtrip (did I mention we were going on a roadtrip even?  It’s been a while since I wrote an entry that wasn’t babbling or venting or apologizing…) because Erik couldn’t get the time we had planned off of work without quitting/getting fired/relinquishing his job.  Originally, we were supposed to leave on July 28th and be back around August 4th or 5th.  Instead, we’re leaving on August 20th and we’ll be back on the 28th.  In order, we’re spending a night in: Elkford, BC; Nelson, BC; Hope, BC; Vancouver (two nights); Kelowna (two nights), and Golden, BC. Along with a few pit stops in between.

Erik’s cousin lives in Elkford, so we’ll stay with him there, and Erik also has a friend who lives in Vancouver who is letting us stay with her for the two nights we’ll be there.  Aside from that, we’ll be chilling out in hostels and a hotel (for one night, in Kelowna, requested by yours truly) and camping for a night or two.

*  Erik tells me this in a note: "Terry, the guy in Elkford, is not my cousin, he’s just a friend I’ve known since like grade seven. My cousin lives in Kelowna right now, but he was in some town really close to Elkford recently, hence the possible confusion."  *

This is my first roadtrip, so it should be interesting at the very least.  I know we’ll have fun, I know we will.  There’s no way we can’t – we just have fun, that’s what we do dammit.  As long as we have music to listen to, and I have books to read while he drives (which he’ll be doing allllll of, since I don’t have my license, and I don’t plan on getting it in the span of a month), I know I’ll be fine.  We keep to our corners and everything will be peachy.

Anyways, it’s late and I have to work in… Just under 7 hours.  Have a good night and a good day…

Terry, the guy in Elkford, is not my cousin, he’s just a friend I’ve known since like grade seven. My cousin lives in Kelowna right now, but he was in some town really close to Elkford recently, hence the possible confusion. With further consideration, the new diary colours are definitely a big improvement. Thumbs up.
