sexting? are you cereal?

i don’t usually make it a point to watch Dr Phil, it’s just not my thing. but when i turned the tv on this morning there he was. his topic today? sexting. wtf? how does sending sexual or nude texts make you a sexual predator? i don’t get it. i guess if you’re a teen and you “sext” and get caught you can be arrested and forever live with the tag of sex offender. are you flippin kidding me? you should be happy that they’re just talking about it. why would you want to label your kids with such a horrid title. did you know that you can be arrested and charged as a sex offender for mooning someone? you can in Michigan. bullshit. cereal.

now before you judge me, an adult sexting with a teen, prolly about the same as phone sex or email porn. but even then you have to take into context the ages of the people. i mean a 20 year old and a 12 year old isn’t right, but someone who just turned 18 with a 16 year old partner, well, that’s just picking at straws in my opinion.

kids are going to experiment with sex. that’s all there is to it. you can’t stop them. and really i didn’t have my own computer until i was an adult and i didn’t have a cell or pager until i could afford it myself. kids shouldn’t have cell phones before high school and even then, why give them the power to sext? don’t let them have texting privileges. duh.

i really hate how people don’t want to take responsibility for their kids or themselves. and then they bitch about their rights and privacy being taken away.

get a grip on life.

I hate Dr Phil. Sexting is fun :o)

Random passing by to say hi 🙂 I’ve never really liked Dr. Phil – some of his way of helping people are just stupid in my opinion. But, interesting that a friend of mine and I months ago were joking around calling it “sexting” and now Dr. Phil is talking about it in that way. It seems that every time I joke around with friends with a newer word, someone decides to come along and ruin it.<P> ♥

Yea, I absolutely agree! I hate parents who give their kids the opportunity to do something and turn right around a b!tch about it! My favorite is parents who complain about violent TV and video games having an influence on their kids. Well, hey, if you don’t like it, don’t let them do it! The industry isn’t forcing them to watch the TV or play the video game, you’re letting them! Another good oneis school and parents. If their kid is failing they get upset and blame the teacher, but it could never be that their little good ol’ Johny didn’t do a lick of work the entire time. Haha.

I agree, If some girl (or guy) is stupid enough to send a text pic of themselves naked the shame of it being sent to everyone should be enough of a punishment. No need to label someone a sex offender for the rest of their life because of a stupid little mistake.

These days, everyone is a sex offender. If you’ve been on the internet and searched for pornography then you’ve probably seen underage stuff. The law is basically semantics but I wish they were tighter in places and more lenient in others.

I agree, if you don’t give your kids limits then they won’t live by them. I learned the hard way!!

Thanks, I know there is more in my life to be proud of and embrase. I am working on that today. I am not the type of person to have a pity party for myself, I’m really not. It has all just been so devastating for me and such a shock. I feel much better today and I know it is time to pull myself together. Thanks for the kind words, I do still need them!
