Mood: Disappointed with myself (for a stupid mistake in the paper)

Boy: Not thinking about it.

Writing About: Israel as a third world nation, the deodorant market.

Daily philosophical approach / deep thought: People think i’m very hard working but i’m really very lazy. Especially when it come to discipline and thinking really hard. It’s not a problem to work long hours. It is a problem to proof-read something you wrote for the 100th time with real concentration. It is a problem to say “this argument has a real problem, so i have to re-write the whole thing”. Easier to conceal the flawed argument and go on to something else, so you look real productive but haven’t done the really hard work at all.

Nice thing that happened: I have possibly got an apartment. A really really good one. If i get it, i will write a whole entry about it, but for now – help me hope…

Interesting thing that happened: The apartment is on the street where my grandparents used to life, where i always wanted to live. I had a good feeling about it before i saw it, and it turned out to be the best palace i’ve seen yet… coincidence?

RYN: Thanks for your notes. Your insight always impresses me, although sometimes I disagree… Actually, I was recently talking to my friend Dave about how to get Ray to start taking more responsibility. We’re trying… Right now, he gets responsibility for keeping the basement neat. (We have a tendency to throw things, like shoes and empty boxes down there and he never puts away tools,

which would be fine except I can never find them that way…)

But honestly, I believe the most I can expect is that he’ll do some things which are positive steps. I don’t think things will ever be… I hate the idea of using the word normal here because it’s such an ugly word, but I do think many of these issues will always be there…

Good luck with the apartment. Where exactly is it?

Oh good luck – coincidence or not it should go to the person who would appreciate it the most, and how could that not be you!

RYNs: Very well put!

Crossing my fingers that you get the apartment
