trip.

Last week I realized I would have to use a week’s vacation before I leave this job.  Less than 3 months away!

I spoke with Keith and he has two weeks to use as well, though he has until December 31 to use his.  In any case, he called up his friend who works as a travel agent, and he found us this amazing vacation in 3 weeks in the Mayan Riviera.  So we booked.

In 3 weeks I’ll be lying on a beach, sipping a margarita.  Maybe not, it’s a little early in the morning for margaritas, but still.  In three weeks I’ll be there.  And I can’t fucking wait.

I’ve never had a vacation without my family before.  I tried to get the ex to go on vacation, but he wasn’t into it.  Didn’t want to leave work for a whole week, or something.  These days he’s permanently on vacation.  Makes me nuts, that one.

I think a vacation down south is just what we need.  To get away, genuinely not be able to work, to have to take time to relax.  We’re thrilled to do it.

I have to a few things to prep for the trip, though.  I should probably get myself to a tanning bed and get a bit of a base tan so I don’t fry in the first ten minutes I’m off the plane.  I have to pick up some shorts and a bathing suit, and maybe some flip flops and sunglasses.  And sunscreen.  SPF 45 sunscreen.  Today at lunch I’m heading to the passport office to get that shit done.  And run.  I need to run basically every day for the next three weeks to ensure I did everything I could to not be fat on the beach.  Oh, and make waxing appointments.  Blargh.

Keith wants to wax his hairy shoulders before we go.  Hahahahahahahahaha weird.
