politics.

It’s a hurricane in the office today.

Miscommunications and missed deadlines are blowing up all around me.

Luckily I fucking rule and none of this is my fault.

Unfortunately for Pat, it seems most of this is his fault and shit is hitting the fan.

I got an angry phone call from my counterpart in our Western office simply because I’m the only one who happened to answer the phone.

Then the yelling.  Then the follow up.  Then the next phone call.  Then the yelling.

Then they found out the design for our new truck is the wrong size.  I think it’s already at the print place.

Pat looks like he might faint.

The VP Marketing is involved now.  He’s marching around, yelling about this and that.

And my boss is too feisty to deal with this the way one should.

She just full on hates the Western office and makes no effort to smooth things over or hide her disdain.

On the plus side, the VP seems happy now and I somehow have the patience and understanding to believe it’s a good idea that he put me in charge of dealing with these people.

It rubs me the wrong way when someone starts to raise their voice at me because someone else is getting to them.

Oh Starbucks, you’ve taught me more than any book ever did.  "I understand.  Absolutely.  Why don’t I find out for you.  Listen, I’ll take care of it.  It’s all good."

Everyone’s simmering.

Except my boss.  She’s completely written off the Western office as retarded and will have nothing to do with it.

Who’s the adult here?

EDIT – The VP just gave me his plant to take care of next week.  What the fuck?
