Too Much Overtime

Well tonight is a 12 hour shift.  four is overtime and 8 straight.  Then a quick comeback at 2 tomorrow.  Lots of things going on.  FIrst off we are working a person short so I have almost 30 hours of ot this week.  Next couple don’t look much better, but the money is good.  I need to fill my fuel oil tank for winter and if I keep this up, I don’t have to rob my savings to get it.

Brother has harvested all the soy beans for the year and we have enough to make the January farm payment.  It will soon be a year since dad passed and it is so hard to believe.  Brother has done all the work and won’t ask for my help so all I can do is be the cheer leader and make the books work for us.  He is pretty incredible, but he has a good son and Bub helps when he is not working.

As for the deposition, it went very well.  i just got my copy of it Friday and is was like 100 pages with 25 lines to a page.  It took 3 hours to get thru it, but I think it made me look credible in a trial if we get to that.  My attorney was pleased and asked me to be present during the deposition of the opposing party.  I am not sure when that will take place.

I was referred back to the orthopedist for my left knee and when I say him the other day, they, both doctors said the meniscus tendon may be torn again.  I also had them check my right knee while I was there and it does not look good either.  I took a cortisone shot in each knee, and they did them at the same time.  When it was finished, neither knee hurt.  They both want me to continue to do the exerises that I did in physical therapy.  Now I am looking for an exercise bike to keep in the house.

Only other thing happening is I have decided to renew my EMT card one more time.  The city is sponsoring a class and I am going to take the refresher class.  It has been a long time since I took a class that covers all the basics.  But I don’t think it will be to hard.  I will have been an emt for 30 years come January.  Not sure when I can go back to running squad, or if I ever will, but I may as well keep the card current.  It may be a source of extra income in the future.

Other than that, life is pretty quiet.  Me and the pups have spent a lot of time playing in the yard.  Luther likes to go out and roll around in the dry grass.  Then he thinks it’s okay to come in the house with crusties all over him.  Murphy’s eyes are getting worse.  His tear ducts in his right eye don’t function at all so he has to be flushed out and cleaned a couple of time a day.  Poor guy hates to see me pickup the artificial tears bottle.  But he lets me do what has to be.

Fall is upon us now and the trees are really beautiful.  I enjoy watching the leaves as they fall and the different colors.  Not quite ready for winter tho.  I hate the cold and the snow.  Can’t wait to retire and get the hell out of here in the winter time.  Just counting the days.  Hope all is well with y’all.  God Bless!
