Hard to believe

Yeah, I have been home from vacation for almost a month and it feels like forever.  I came home to several situations that I had not anticipated, but all seemed to work out for the best.

FIrst off, when we returned to the U.S. and back to our home, I called my dog sitter to find out that my boys had gotten into a nasty argument and Murphy, my big dog had come out on the losing end.  Seems little dog, Luther had been put on the ground by Murph, and Luther decided to bite Murph in the cheek and create a bad infection in his jaw.  Thankfully, my dog sitter, aka Jules, who is also a dog warden didn’t hesitate to take Murph to my vet and get him fixed up.  The only bad part was the bill to the tune of 175 bucks.  But that is why I trust her to take care of my boys.  And I happily paid her back as soon as I got home.  Murphy has recovered and I have stopped the fighting between them simply by not "sparind the rod."  Both understand now what, "I am going to beat you mean."  It only took one act of getting a big stick.

After that I called my dad from Florida and he told me that he had blood clots in his leg while I was gone and he was taking shots of blood thinner in his stomach as opposed to staying in the hospital.  I told him to save a couple of shots for me to give him.  I also told him it was caused by him being so "damn mean."  He knew I was kidding, but it did give him a wake up call for a few weeks.  Now he is back to being Mr. Happy!

Other than that, between the snow and cold weather, I am ready to go back to the Sunshine state and take up residence. Seven and one quarter years until I can retire and head south.  I am counting the days, believe me.

When I went bcak to work, I was told that as of the 1st of March, I would return to working shift work.  That means seniority doesn’t mean anything anymore.  But I did tell the Chief that I was not happy about working shift work, but he was the Chief, and I did accept the change.  Now all my coworkers are forced to work weekends, which they have not had to do for the past 5 years.  I thought that one or two of them would seek employment elsewhere, but I guess they decided that they would stay.  I told the Chief that I was happy to have a job and my goal would be retirement.  That is my pot at the end of my rainbow.

I am continuing physical therapy, and seeing the workers comp doctors, also still seeing the head doctor.  I have really been amazed at how therapy with someone that is a total stranger has allowed me to open up about my feelings.  I don’t know how much longer this will continue, but we will see.  I told the workers comp doc that my eyesight has not gotten better or shown any improvement at all, and he said that my loss of sight may be permanent.  I told him that I understood that, but it is still disappointing that no one can tell me what the problem is.  I feel he is getting somewhat tired of dealing with me.  I told him that I am now having jaw pain and now he is going to try and get me into a doctor who specializes in TMJ, or temporal mandibular jaw problems.  THis remains to be seen if it will happen.

Oh well that is it for now.  The wind is blowing at terrible speeds and reminds me of the storm in September that was part of Huricane Ike.  But we are still better of than the poor folks in Oklahoma and I will continue to pray for them and hope that no more storms touch them.  Take care my friends and God bless each and every one of you.

Oklahoma sure took a hard hit. I guess Luther and Murph now know that Alpha dog is YOU! LOL! Glad your dog is okay, sure wish you were. **HUGS** RYN: Soph, all you can do is keep trying and eventually, you’ll get there. I think mindset is probably the most important part of the equation.
