Tuesday at the Docs office
Went into the docs office and was taken back to the torture machine, aka the scale of doom and stepped up. I know that my weight is up due to water retention and edema in my ankles. So after that torture, I was taken into the little room to wait for the lady in the white coat. The nurse took my blood pressure and it was 160/92. For me that is too high. That has been on of the things that I had on my list of topics to discuss. Doc came in and when she looked at the chart she nearly had a stroke. She asked me what was going on and I began to spill out the things that were on my mind. She knows about my head injury in May and my workers comp claim. She also knows of the emotional toll that fall has taken on me and my mental and physical well being. Anyhow to make along story short, she increased my blood pressure medicine and my acid reflux meds. Also she wants to see me next week because things are not getting any better.
Now it’s time to fugure out what I am gonna do about my tire. Needless to say my blood pressure sure wasn’t being helped any. But hey, I got friends in low places and one of them owns a junk yard. So I called him and asked him to pull me a couple of tires and rims from a truck that I have been robbing parts off of. I was give a ride to the farm and took nephew Bubba with me to put the tire on the truck. All is well and the old beater is back on the road.
Wednesday was an appointment with Dr Workers Comp. When I started talking to him I told him that I was really frustrated with the lack of progress that I was making healing. My knee bothers me more than the day of my injury and the sight in my right eye has not gotten any better. Well needless to say I became very emotional when talking to this doctor and I think he is finally taking me serious after 7 months. I also told him that I am feeling like I am not very confident in my job anymore. That dealing with the bad things that I have to, I am really bothered that I can’t process the grief like I used to. I really was upset and even when I left the office I was pretty rattled. I drove home cancelled my dentist appointment and took a nap.
Later that night I made stuffing for the Thansgiving dinner that I was invited to and went to bed. I really needed that day to be behind me. Thanksgiving day was pretty uneventful. Dinner was wonderful and the fact that if my family got together I was’t called. Oh well! Probably a good thing cause I didn’t really need the stress.
Well this is all pretty uneventful and I must say that I am forced to leave out some detail for my own well being. But I know how I felt those days and it is important for me to start venting some of my frustration and things that are bothering me. Maybe if I can stay active here like I used to, my blood pressure will go down and my acid refluxx will go away. And if not, at least the medicine may help out some. And this coming week will be quite busy also, but one holiday is done and one more to go until they are past and my vacation begins. Come on December 29th, I’m ready for a break.
Sounds like a nice long break is in order!

It is good you have a break coming soon. I know OD is a great source of relaxation and stress relief for me. So maybe it can lower blood pressure for you if you stop by more often!!

Those vacations (even mini ones) can help destress a little. Hope you get a long one after Christmas as you very well need it! Take care and maybe the breakdown at the docs was what he needed. Certainly hope things starting moving ahead on the process.
