The dinner~

Jesus was looking forward to a scrumptous dinner, tonight.  The art of cooking was another gift that his father had bestowed upon his mom. And how long has it been since he had seen Mary Magdalene?  It’s been more than eleven years since they seen each other.   For the exact time, he was sure that she would have it written in her diary. The conversation will certainly be like champagne.

"Eleven years, four months, six days, when my world ended."  That’s what she had wrote at the time when she said goobye to Jesus.  And now I feel reborn, again, Mary thought.  Just what should I wear for the love of my life…ah, purple. That’s his favorite color. Thank you father, for allowing me to see your son, again.

Jesus said to his mom, "You have outdone yourself, again with this luscious spread.  Mary will be very impress."

"It will be so good to have Mary here again, huh son?  And maybe we can lured her to stick around for awhile."

I see that gleam in your eye, mom. But you know that I have a lot of preparations ahead of me."

"But, Jesus, you got a teacher in Mary who can help you."

"As usual, mother, you are right about that."  They were interrupted by a knock on the door."

Jesus opened the door and the beauty in purple took his breath away.  He was in a daze when she said, "Jesus, are you gonna just stare at me all night? If so, let me in and I’ll give you a closer view."

Jesus broadly grinned, "Same young beautiful Mary.  So, how long has it been?"

Mary recited the number of days that they were apart. "Like you have said, Jesus, ‘death is the beginning of life.’ That’s what it took to bring up together again."  Mary could always cheer his heart.

As they came into the kitchen, Jesus’s mother Mary embraced her, saying, "It’s so good to see you again, Mary.  I’m hoping that your visitis will become a regular habit, again."

Jesus was quite surprise by the conversation, thinking that something was in the air.  "Ah, mother, did Mary stop by to visit last week?"

"Yes, son. She did.  And she got to visit with Joseph, too.  That was the last day that he was healthy."

"Hmn" Jesus uttered.

Jesus’s mother continued, "Mary had us pledged not to tell you anything. She wanted to surprise you."

Jesus smiled, "Same young, unpredictable Mary. And what other things don’t I know about?"

"Mary has decided to settle down here, again, in Nazareth."

All Jesus could utter was, "Oh."

"Yes.  She has secured a tutoring ministry."

"A tutoring ministry/" Jesus echoed.  "Tutoring girls?"

"Both boys and girls.  Remember that our rabbi is very open to the voice of our father. He just had to take a lof of heat from the temple and school authorities.  But he convinced them all.  I’m sure that your father helped a lot."

"Well, well, well," Jesus said.  "This calls for a celebration.  "Let’s break out the best bottle of wine that the folks in town have jsut sent us."

As they feasted on the bountiful gifts that the town had provided, Jesus said, "So, tell us Mary, what have you been doing the last ten yeaers."

"I’ve been living my dream of teaching in a Yeshiva.  The rabbi in my town thought that I was the most gifted teacher that he has ever seen. He was so astonished by my knowledge that he asked me who was my tutor. I told him that I had heavenly help.  He studied me for a moment, and said, "I see.  Then he said, "You would be the first women to teach at a Yeshiva.  But I’ll battle for you all the way. Because I want to sit in on some of your classes, myself.

"And he did battle for 10 years against all of those in authority who did not think that a women should be teaching men in public.  Just a few months ago, though, he died.  As he was dying, he asked for me. I went to his house and he said, "Mary, I have been wanting to know about something for years. You know things that no human could have attained by natural means.  So, tell me, have you had visions from G-d?"

"I thought, ‘how could I tell him, acutally I have been taught by the son of God.’  He would think that I was mad."

"Then he said to me, "Over 25 years ago, I saw a great event in the heavens.  A bright, glittering star that stood out in the heaven, travelled many miles, then stopped.  I travelled to that place and saw things that I have never told anyone. I saw a caravan that included what look like to be three kings bearing gifts. I learned that a baby was born there, to received these gifts.  Who else could this babe be, but one of royalty!  Remembering the Scriptures, ‘But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, you are little to be among the clans of Judah; [yet] out of you shall One come forth for Me Who is to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth have been from of old, from ancient days (eternity),  I knew that the messaih had been born. If only I could have seen him.  But Mary, after listening to you for ten yeaers, I believe that you have known him.  Is that True?"

Mary couldn’t deny the truth, joyously saying, "Yes Rabbi.  I have known him as the wonderful counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting father, the prince of peace…"

The rabbi bless me, open his eyes in wide wonderment and looked like he was haivng a vision. He then said, ‘now I can depart in peace, for I have seen the one who will be the savior of Israel.’  He then closed his eyes with a delicious smile on his face, as he departed for the next world."

Jesus had his eyes closed, and seem to be communicating with his father.  He open them and said, "My father always kept me informed about the holy men of Israel.  Rabbi Weir was one of them.  And he filled me in, regularly, about how you were doing at the Yeshiva." Jesus broke into a big grin.

Mary shouldn’t have been so stunned, knowing Jesus. "So, you kept tabs on me all of these years and never visited me?" Secretly, Mary was in ecstasy.

"Actually, Mary, I did visit you, once, a few months ago."

Mary’s triggered mind spoke, "Ah!  I have been wondering for these last three months if rabbi Weir had a vision of you, before he died.  So, I was right."

"Yes, my father said that because rabbi Weir lived such a blessed life, he would fulfill his dream of seeing the messiah before he died."

Mary playfully asked, "So, you would have shown yourself to me if I have had a dream of seeing the messiah before?

"But Mary, you see in in your dreams every night."

She turned to mother Mary who had been thoroughly enjoying the sparkling interaction,  "How do you put up with a man who actually knows everything?"

Mother Mary said, "Actually, the father hides some things from him."

Jesus agreed, "Yes, the father enjoys seeing me having to deal with the human experience and learn things as I live life to the fullest.  But, theere are many things he allows me to see and he’s allowing me to see an angel in purple, right now."

Mary Blushed,  Ah, the things that the son of God says to me!
