Dawn on the streets~

Dawn welcomed the morning and was eager to be off on her adventure!  She couldn’t get that dream out of her head, though.  And amazingly, she rememberred practically the entire dream. The Lord must really be blessing her. And he wants me to be a bit cautious on the streets.  How bout if I just walk up to everyone and wish them a Merry Christmas?  And then maybe we could have a discussion about Jesus. Hmnnnn. She wondered if her dream could also be interpreted as a possibility of actually meeting Jesus on the streets, today!  What if she said Merry Christmas to him: how would he react?  Ah, well, she would be ready to meet him, just in case…

On her long bus trip to town, she reflected on the difference between where she lived and the city. Since only 253 people lived in her town, she knew just about everyone. And when the season of giving arrived: she greeted everyone she met with a most hearty: Merry Christmas. Actually she often greeted people with a: Happy Christmas; and would often have conversations with inquiring minds, as to why she said: Happy Christmas. She would tell them: ‘Happy’ is used to denote a longer-lasting time, then ‘merry.’ And since we wish to have Christmas within our hearts all the year long: Happy Christmas is more accurate than Merry Christmas, as to wishing that Jesus would be born anew, this day.

She was often told, "Dawn, you sure are a blessing. Our town is happy to have you here!"

Her heart always smiled at such happy rememberences of his home town. "Ah, she thought. But the city is like an entire different world: with masses of people.  Maybe greeting everyone with a Merry Christmas isn’t something that I should do.’  Maybe I’ll just waltz around the streets and look into people’s eyes, and see if I see Jesus residing in their soul: and wish them a Merry Christmas.  Ah, but why just share the Light with those who already have the Light?  I need to share Jesus with everyone.  And I know since Jesus was rejected, and since he is a sign of contradiction: I know that I will be meeting a similiar fate!  So, I must do as my master told me to do!  I must share the Gospel, if the opportunity presents itself.

Dawn was jubilant as she finally arrived in the city. Jumping down from the bus, she quickly went to work. She walked up and down the streets, wearing that smile that naturally lit up her face. She was surprised to received many cold looks in return, as if they were jealous over the happiness of another person.  She was actually afraid of their reaction, if she wished them a Merry Christmas. She wondered, ‘would they angrily tell her not to bother them; that you keep your Merry Christmas to yourself; that you mind your business, lady, and I’ll mind mine.’

But, after an hour, she summoned up her courage and greeted one of those miserable looking souls with a eager: "Merry Christmas, sir!"  To her delight, the man was stunned.  The delightful greeting had never reached his ears before, on this busy street.  He stopped for a moment, saying,

"And a Most Merry Christmas to you, young lady.  Thanks for the gift!" He walked away whistlilng a Christmas song.

That response gave Dawn courage to speak her soul, all day long…..

After six hours of sharing Jesus in her own way: she sat down, her body exhausted. Ah, but her spirit was flying.  It was a very fruitful day.  She had actually received some negative responses from people who just wanted to be left alone.  But, she was glad to meet these people, more so than any of the cheerful souls. Cause they needed her prayers, more than the ones who didn’t have such a dire need to be healed by the Divine Doctor.

As she was sitting, she reflected on her day…thinking….people actually are happy to have another soul, another stranger come up to them out of the blue: and share with them something that means so much to them.  People don’t like to be harassed, or hassled, or preach down to: but they like to have their world interrupted with encoraging news, or a wonder greeting.  Ok, there were a few people that preached: "hey, you don’t supposed to be saying: Merry Christmas. Don’t you know that you could possibly offend someone?"  She looked at those people, like they were from a different planet. In her town, such an absurd thing was never uttered.

Suddenly a stranger sat down beside her.  He smiled, saying, "Is this seat taken?"

"Ah, yes: its taken by you."

"You are a treasure.  You have such love inside you, that you just can’t help but share."

"Ah, and how would you know that?"  She was quite intrigued by this man.  A smile never left his face.

"I have been watching you share me, all day long."

She thought of the man in her dream: they look identical.

<fontface=”Arial”>She summoned up her courage, again, to asked: "Why are you such a fan of mine?" She put head in her lap, thinking of the foolishness of her question.

"Because your such a big fan of mine, Dawn."

"I can’t believe that you are sitting here beside me."

"I like what your doing, Dawn.  You helped many souls, today. And I know that it wasn’t always easy.  But you kept preesing on; and now have recieved your reward."

"Wow. Did I ever!"  A thought flashed across her mind, ‘I wonder if I could take a picture of him with my camera.’  But she couldn’t bring herself to asked him that.

"Dawn, I am more than happy to have you take my picture."

"Wow. Ok."  She was so nervous that she couldn’t remember how to take the picture.

"Here, Dawn, give me the camera. I’ll take it for you."

He clicked the phone camera.  And he said, "I have to be going now to encourage more of my brethen. Peace I give you, not as the world give you.  Keep sharing, Dawn.  Keep welcoming souls to my kingdom."

For the next hour, she sat in ecstasy.  What a story she would share with her town.  And it all started because she wanted to wish people: a Merry Christmas.

I think she might have found the man in her dream. It will be a very Happy or Merry Christmas in deed. And I have no doubt that she helped many people that day to feel the love of Jesus within their soul. I am sure it will be a very Merry Christmas. And I think Dawn has alot more to come.

Wow, Bri! What a strong and beautiful story of a lovely Christian girl sharing her faith with so many people, and receiving a miracle gift of a lifetime by having Jesus thank her for her sharing Him with so many souls, and welcoming them into His Kingdom! I loved this entry, Bri! You picked the absolute right name for your diary name! “Heavenwithn,” because it is just what you have! Love, and a very Merry Christmas! Liz

At first I thought Dawn is so alone but what company could one want when the Lord himself is there to love and encourage. Such wonderful encounters with the Lord and when that happens nothing would discourage her even that “ACLU” encounter. Right now am thinking of all the “Dawns” whom I have encountered in real life. God bless them all. And, God bless you, too, Bri for sharing the love of the Lord in your stories.

I wish I can go to Ireland again. One of my cousin got married to an Irish and it was a very interesting and the longest wedding I have ever attended. It was hours of sitting in the church! Pheeww … I swear I have almost fallen asleep. LOL I love Irish and their cultures; yes, fairies and Druids legends, the myths of the Celtic & so on.
