Mary talking with Jesus about potential exam quest

"So," Mary said to Jesus. "Do you think that a possible exam question may be: What prophet was born a Hebrew, raised by an Egyptian princess, only for him to give up any possbile thought to the throne of Egypt: by choosing to live among his own people, the Hebrews?"

"Kinda an easy question, Mary."

"Ok,  Jesus.  Perhaps you could suggest some possible essay questions."

"Ok.  Why did my father pick the Israelites to be his chosen people?"

Mary’s eyes twinkled as she said, "That’s easy. Because he knew that there would be two Hebrew woman call Mary, that would be the most important thing that would ever happen to you.  He saw that these two Marys would fall head over heels in love with you; so his mind was made up: they are my favorite people."

"Oh, Mary,  Your so funny."

"Yeah," she smiled as she threw her arms around him.  She didn’t know how playful she could continue to be. But she thought, ‘why not take a chance and let Jesus determined what their behavior would be.’

Jesus asked his father for help. "What should I do now, dad?"

His dad humorously said, "Why ask me.  Your the one that has gotten yourself into this situation.  And I am thoroughly enjoying it."

"Dad.  What is this: everyone’s a comedian, today?"

"Son, just use your own wisdom to do what you feel is right."

As Jesus felt her arms around him, they certainly did feel right to him.  His reaction was,

"Ok, Mary.  Good answer.  I have to admit that the father and I immensely loved my mother and you.  Next question."

"Let me see….How many Israelites pass through the Red Sea, in the Great Exodus, as they fled the Egyptians?"

"How many, Mary?"

"Conservatively speaking: over two million souls."

"Yes.  I remember it well.  The Egyptians were gonna slaughter everyone: man women and children.  So, my father has no choice but to let all the Egyptians perish: the good with the bad.  Some of those Egyptians were good men and women, who sought my father’s wisdom; and will one day see the promise land in heaven."

"Ah, Jesus what a life I have.  And to have my arms around my hero, a savior like you: it’s beyond my wildest imagination."

Jesus smiled, thinking to himself. ‘Indeed I am, Mary.  Yet, my father hasn’t revealed to you yet: that I am the savior of the world.

"Ok. Mary.  What was the first location in which my father walked among men?"

"Ouuu. Good one, Jesus.  Let’s see: Genesis 3:8 says, ‘And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.’"  Mary sighed. "Ah, how disappointed your father must have been, to see the man leave the woman unprotected, to fend for herself against Satan."

"Since my dad knew what would happen beforehand, he wasn’t or can’t ever be disappointed by the actions of man."

"Yeah, but, didn’t he regret that he would make a man who was potentially perfect: turn out to be a wimp."

"Ha. Ha.  Mary’s funny.  My father never regretted anything.  When you are the father and knows what’s best for your children, and how all things will be decided: there can be no regrets. For as I say, my father knows best."

"What a divine teacher you are, Jesus."

Jesus smiled and asked another question.  "Ok. What are the two greatest commandments?"

"Hmnnn Jesus.  I would think that this is a trick question, but you not a trickster. So, let’s see…you have told me that:

"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’"

"Very good, Mary.  You will ace this exam"

"Ah, thanks to my most wonderful teacher."  With that Mary closed her eyes. And as she held Jesus, she dreamed again……

So true. Why did God chose Hebrew? Why not English? Japanese? Or aliens perhaps? he, he, he ….

Jesus and Mary certainly have the answers to the questions. It also gave me a refresher course too. Thanks Bri

Imagine in those days God used to appear face to face with Adam and Eve to fellowship with them. Also during Moses’ time God appeared tangibly to Moses. I wonder why very often I hear people say, “no one has seen God”.

Long time ago there were no Hebrew, no Japs, no English and no Asian and no Indian. There is only Adam & Eve ( just like HISDOVE wrote down there) – there is only us ‘human’. 🙂 Thank you for your notes. *Trying to find time to write. Been busy lately.* See you!
