Jesus: going home for breakfast~
As dawn was breaking, Jesus started back home. While walking through one of the valleys, he spotted him, from far away. He saw the intensity of the eyes, the tautness of his body, and knew that he was ready to strike at his prey. His intended victim had strayed too far from the flock. She has found a good spot when the salt march was very tasty. Ah, how he hated it, when sin entered the world, and the survival of the fittest became part of this world; and the weak of this world: gave way to the strong of this world, unless he intervened, like he would do so, now.
Knowing the diet of the wolf, Jesus created an irresistible delicacy that attracted the wolf. Simultaneously, Jesus created a suggestion in the mind of one of the shepherds: he needed to check on the safety of his sheep, where this one had wandered. While the wolf was lying down eating his meal, the shepherd did in fact come over to gathered the stray back into the fold. Jesus rested, being thankful that the sheep was safe again.
Since Jesus had stayed out all night, he knew that her mother would be there waiting for him: as she had been pacing back and forth all night, praying, praising and asking his father to send him home, soon. Oh, she knew that his father would always keep him safe. She knew that he had a mission to fulfill, or at least she tried to keep convincing herself that he would always be safe. Still…she was sometimes concerned for him. Jesus smiled. What mother cannot be worried for her son, from time to time….
Opening the door to his home, he hollered, "Hey mom, where are you?"
"Oh, I was just getting some breakfast ready for you. I figured you’ll be home soon and will be starving for my cooking."
As his mom embraced him, he said, "Ah, mom how right you are. There’s nothing like a mom’s cooking, to satisfy the palate."
"Ah, son. Your the sweetest son any mom could have: everyone tells me that."
Jesus blush at such praise & thanked his mom with a another hug and kiss.
She asked, "So, you have been up all night long, again, with your father?"
"Yeah. Had to have a long talk with him. I was feeling a bit down for awhile. But he can always perk me up."
"Great, son. Ah, and while you were away, we had a visitor. Mary was here looking for ya."
"So, did she visit with ya for awhile?"
"Yeah. Of course, you know me, I don’t like to pry into other’s affairs. I was wondering, though, what was on her mind, when all of a sudden she layed bare her heart. Mary smiled.
"Did she, mom? Was it all confidential?"
"Actually, no, son. And she told me that you knew her heart."
"Yes, mom. It’s a heart that is filled with an immeasurable amount of love."
"And all for you, son, huh?"
"Yes, mom. You have the sweetest smile Did I ever tell you that? Also, have I told you that I must be about my father business?"
"Yes, son: you did. You started that at the age of 12, when you were having a discusion with the leaders in the synagogue."
"Yes. And as Mary may have told ya, my father’s business doesn’t leave me with a lot of time to devote to a heart like Mary possesses."
"But will she be one of your disciples, son?"
"Hmn. Did she mentioned that possibility?"
"No, Jesus. Just that she will be part of your ministry."
"Well, mom…some things aren’t meant to be disclosed, before the time is right. So, let’s just say that she will be of invaluable service to me and to my father’s ministry."
"Ah, son, your gonna keep me in suspense?"
"Yes, mom. Ah, but I know how you love a good suspenseful drama, mix in with a bit of romance."
Mary smiled. "Yes, son. So, I’m still not clear on your relationship with Mary. Will you two continue being the perfect couple that all the town admires?"
Jesus knew that: ‘all the town,’ translated to mean: ‘all the mothers that she talked to.’
"Ah, mom, my stomach is rumbling. I’m famished. Where’s breakfast?"
Mary knew that was her son’s way of saying that’s all that she would get out of him, right now…..But a mother can always hope. And she looked to heaven silently asking, ‘Right?’
What mother cannot be worried for her son, from time to time… Yes, that is true. And, how blessed are we mothers who trust in the Lord to take care of our children in every way. Oh, and which mother doesn’t want to know about a son’s love life. Unfortunately, I got too involved in my son’s relationship with a girl once and son didn’t like it. So, I’ve learnt my lesson. :)<P>
