Troubles and microtubes
Drat, I didn’t notice until now that the head is out of focus.
My macro tubes came today, and they are fun to play with. I have sort of learned how to get some good macro shots. Maybe tomorrow I will find something exciting to shoot and get some good photographies. Oh to have a kid so I could play with their toys.
The likeable thing about these tubes is I have a 13, 21, and 31 mm spacer, or any combination of them. It was fascinating going from no microtube to all of them.
The biggest problem I am noticing so far is that I can’t necessarily get the camera close enough, and as I wrote this I realized I could use my rolling computer desk to hold the item.
The other problem has been lighting. I don’t have any reflectors or speed lights, and I hate using the one that’s built into the camera.
I need to get my focusing better. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed the wrong thing is in focus. It seems in focus when I’m snapping. Maybe my eyesight is starting to deteriorate.
There isn’t anything much else exciting going on. I still have my 2 x teleconverter coming. That should help me get good gator pics without them chasing me.
I just learned – nature is natural.
Medhia has been on my mind the last few days. I miss her. I don’t cry when I think of her; now it’s just an overwhelming sadness. It feels like it’s been years, but it hasn’t even been two months. I’ve been blessed to have such beautiful cats. Even Tigger is adorable. She just doesn’t do much.
One of the good things about my microtubes coming today is how good a distraction they were. I didn’t focus on the missing nuclear material in Mexico or any other of the vast and unpleasant happenings of the day.
I think I’m going to bed. I went to bed very early last night and spent a few hours awake this morning before going back to bed for a while.

@dlk082244 To answer your questions from the previous entry. My background is in foreign relations with a speciality in intelligence and defence issues. I also have a degree in Public Relations with a sub speciality in crisis management.
I worked for the government right out of high school. About 15 years after my starting in the public sector, I opened my own consulting firm.
We had a broad focus but mainly focused on strategically preparing organizations to handle a crisis plus provided planning and advice on various matters relating to PR.
I’m not involved in the actual rescuing of the animals. Once they are situated in their new environment, I’ll be providing care and enrichment to them while they’re undergoing rehabilitation.
There are no qualifications for this. One merely signs up for a fixed length term. The WRC provides all the training as well as directly working one-on-one with a keeper.
Even a quick few youtube lessons on how to compose an image takes cell phone photography to the next level. Invest 30 minutes and your cell photo’s will be as good as any taken by a pro using expensive equipment.
The art of recording light is fascinating. Just the concept of it hurts my brain. However, it is a great hobby for anyone who enjoys different pursuits.
@axalotal Thanks, very interesting. To reciprocate, I managed my ex’s dental office for 26 years. After a divorce in 2000, I was hired as HR Director of a controls company, where I worked for 15 years till I retired.
