May Start Selling Fleece Blankets

Well, figure it’s time to update again.  I’m babysitting Teagun right now and the darned kid is finally sleeping for more than a half an hour.  He’s been asleep for about 2 and a half hours now.  I”m not complaining.  My mom and Jay went  hunting early this morning so I’ve been up with him since 6 this morning and any chance I thought I had to take a nap he’d only sleep for like 30 minutes..he’d wake up right when I was about asleep..so yeah..I finally got about an hours nap and I feel better.  Sheesh…I better get practiced up if I ever plan on having kids lol. 

Anyways, so not much has been going on.  Schools…alright..can’t wait til this semester is over.  Anyways, I don’t really want to talk about that.  I’ve started a new project.  I was thinking the other night about what we were going to get Matt’s neices and nephews for Christmas.  We usually just buy them each an outfit and that’s getting a little old.  At one point I thought I could save money by making them little fleece blankets.  By little I don’t mean tiny…I settled on 1 1/4 yard by 60 inch.  After getting two of them done I think I’m going to start selling them..it depends because I haven’t really settled on a price yet.  I dunno I’ll think about it.  Anyways, I’ve got two made and 5 others waiting to be made.  My cousin is going to a Cowboy Christmas Show type thing where she sales tack, saddles, coats, etc and she told me that she’d take a few if I made them and try and sell them for me.  I’m going to make a few different sizes and what not and let her take them.  I’ll make up some order forms or whatever in case someone wants a style or size that already sells or something..I MIGHT only send these ones for her to show and they can order them.  My budget is kinda limited right now and I can’t afford to buy anymore fleece.  That stuffs pretty darned expensive….I was surprised.  I mean all the stuff I have I got on sale, so I can’t complain about that, but still.  So far I’ve made 2 John Deere ones, have one more John Deere one to make, have a little boy Winnie The Pooh one, little girl Baby print and 2 Carebear ones all still to make, so I’m thinking for now just listing them on ebay and seeing what happens.  Then if I make any money on them I’ll be able to make more to send with my cousin.  It’s all kind of a rush though because this show she is going to is on the 19th and 20th of this month..so I dunno.  I’m thinking of just taking $100 out of savings and going and buying a bunch more fleece, but even $100 isn’t going to buy much for the bigger blankets…I”m thinking of making some 2 1/2 yards X 60″, 2 yards X 60″, 1 1/2 yards X 60″.  The bigger ones are great for adults..the mid-sized ones are great for older children and the smaller ones are great for babies…in cribs or whatever. 

Anyways, I dunno if anyone will even read this, but my next entry will be pics of the ones I have made and have to make if anyone is interested I will take orders through OD or whatever.  I accept Paypal and that’s about it!  LOL
