Memorial Day Weekend

Friday at work one of the radio stations was there and while I was on delivery I heard them say they were going to be giving away some tickets to Freedom Fest whichi is going to have Darryl Worley and Brian McComas in concert. Brian McComas is my sister’s absolute favorite! My 9 year old sister that is. I told my mom about it and told her she needs to try and get her some tickets. She went and told one of the salesmen to try and get her some. A little while later when the radio station gave them away to some guy, the guy said he’d never use them and Cal(the salesman) overheard it and said, “Well I know someone who will!” SO they gave them to him and he came back and gave them to my mom and I called my sister. She was excited! At first she was like shocked because she didn’t believe me.
So after work I just rode home with my mom. We stopped at Alberstons and got some stuff for dinner and then went to her house. Matt wa already there when we got there and we just kinda hung out. Watched a movie…which I fell asleep during lol. Got home pretty late, and we brought my sister with us. It was the craziest thing Friday night though. I woke up with my hamster on my head!!! It was the scariest thing lol. I about died. I woke Matt up and he put her away and what do ya know..we woke up in the morning and she was out. I guess my sister had woke up in the middle of the night twice to put her away. Matt had to go to work so he didn’t have time to find her, but I looked all throughout the day and had no clue where she was. My sister left with my dad to go camping so I was stuck here…wondering where in the crap my hamster was. When Matt got home he went and dug through our storage closet and there she was just sleeping. I have the cage fixed now so she shouldn’t be able to get out.
After Matt got home we just kinda hung out. Trying to decide what to do the rest of the weekend. We finally decided to drive up to where my dad and his familyi were camping. We got half way there and it started pouring rain. I was a little miffed, but we kept on going. We got there and it was cold…it had stopped raining. After a while it cleared up pretty good. It was still cold, but we decided to go to the driving range and smack a few golf balls. Matt even did, which I was surprised, because he hates golf lol. He did pretty good. Afte rthat we went adn had dinner and what not. Then we went over to the pizza place and drank a lot of beer. It was awesome beer though. I can’t remember the name of it….Flat tire or something like that. BEtween 7 of us we went through 5 pitchers. I had 5 glasses lol. I was a bit tipsy. Then we went back to camp and went to sleep.
Sunday we woke up and had breakfast and then went golfing. I don’t golf much..it was like my third time and I did pretty darn good. There was 5 of us..and I got 3rd…I was only 2 strokes out of 2nd and 6 out of 1.
After that everyone decided to pack up and go home. WE came home and showered and just kinda bummed trying to decide if we should go to Spencer or not…where Matt’s family is. We decided against it and to go over to my uncles house and watch Nascar. We hardly ever do anything with my dad’s family and I pointed that out to Matt and he thought it was a good point. So we went over there. While we waited for my dad to get there we ran over to Ericksons and looked at their cars. I found a new dream car….now I’m stuck between it and an Escape. I mean I like the idea of having 4 wheel drive…but this Grand Am was awesome. It would get better gas mileage too. It was black..it was a GT with a sunroof…ohhh man. I fell in love. Matt really liked it too. Problem is it’s brand spankin new…04…and I really didn’t want to go brand new..and it’s as much as an Escape …I’m a little confused!
I have to take my car in there on Tuesday to get a recall done and so I might test drive that and see. I even have them work me up a deal and see just how good a deal I can get. I”m hoping my mom knows one of the salesman so they know to give me a good deal!
Anyways, so after the race we came home and just watched tv. The race was pretty boring..it got to the point it was obvious who was going to win. Martin had some ignition problems and ended up like 13 laps down. Kenseth ended up 4th which isn’t bad.
Anyways, today we’re just bumming. We did some cleaing and now I”m listing all of our old Text books on half.com. If ya need any check it out..so far their 10 on there and I have about 10 more to go. I didn’t realize we had so many. If we sell them all we’ll have…I’d say about $500. Kinda sucks because we’d spend that in a semester and this is probably 4 semester for two people worth of books.
Anyways, I might take a break and go take a shower.

Hello. I saw you note one of my fav’s and decided to say hello. Hope you don’t mind. :). I haven’t been camping in years and miss it greatly. The only beer I’ll drink is Sam Adams Light or Sam Adams White Ale. :).

Hello, I saw you on Honest Responses diary and noticed your questions about psychology, and as a psych major myself I had to stop by and say hi. =o)If you’re considering psychology and like learning about not only others but also yourself, and you like to think, I definitely recommend psychology as a field. And it is so broad — you’ll definitely find at least one area if not more…

… that interests you.As for Social Work, I can’t say much there, but I guess if you want to do some counselling and stuff but don’t want as much of an education, then go into Social Work. I don’t know if I’m being biased because of my major, but I’ve had friends trying to talk me into being a Social Work major by telling me that it’s much easier. Personally, I happen to love…

… my pscyhology classes, which is the main reason I didn’t switch. There’s also more possibilities in psychology. You’re not just limited to some counselling. Finally, when I took a social work class last quarter, I really didn’t like it. Again, I don’t know if it’s my bias, but it felt like I had learned the things in that class years ago. Anyhow, I’m gonna stop bugging you now. =o) Take care
