It’s done

I was nervous and dreading it for no reason – after almost 2 years of dating (with no sex, ever, my choice) I officially friend-zoned Steve. It’s been coming for a long time, we’re much better as friends. He’s relieved, I’m relieved, no one is hurt, and we can both move forward.  I tossed it around for months, and when 30-yr-old came along and I was THAT attracted from the first moment, I realized it was unfair to both Steve and I. He’s down to pick up some of his things today, and we’re hanging out – of course I didn’t find it necessary to let him know a day after I friend-zoned, I hooked up – and I hope he soon finds a hookup (or future wife!) of his own.

And for now, I’m happily single with a fwb.
