A QUARTER

My birthday was better than I  had ever hoped it would be.

It seems like the excitement of your ‘birthday’ just kind of wears out a little more every year.

This year it started out like any other birthday…

7:13 am: I woke up and I thought, "Crap, it’s late!" and then, "Oh! Today’s my birthday!"
8:02am: Co-worker Mcomes in and says, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
9:16am: Secretary down the hall says, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARINA!" on my way to the restroom.
10:00am: Co-worker M comes in and says, "You know we have to go out to lunch for your birthday right?" then tells me they’re taking me to Marshall to eat pizza! Yayyy!
11:30am: We go to Marshall for pizza!
1:30pm: We get back to the office.
2:15pm: A guy comes in to ask if the Driver’s license place will be open today because it’s his birthday and his DL expires today. I tell him I don’t know and I wanted to tell him it was also my birthday but I didn’t, and he left.
4:38pm: I go home.
4:45pm: The door is locked for some reason and my husband opens the door for me while I dig my keys out of my purse.
4:47pm: My husband tells me HAPPY BIRTHDAY and gives me a hug. Asks me if I want to go out to eat tonight or Friday night. 
4:50pm: I decide to go ahead and cook tonight, so I start prepping for dinner.
5:00pm: Mom calls, tells me happy birthday and that her and dad are on their way from Lview.
5:45pm: Parents arrive. Greet parents. They brought cake, and roses.
6:00pm: We sit down and eat dinner.
6:02pm: Dad says my spaghetti is good.
6:02pm: Mom agrees. She says she also loves the garlic bread.
6:07pm: Dad says how good my spaghetti is AGAIN.
6:07pm: Mom agrees, asks for the recipe.
6:08pm: Dad says his friend who was doing some work for us said he LOVED my cooking and asked what I made.
6:09pm: I told him Chicken Enchiladas.
6:09pm: Mom wants to know how I make them.
6:10pm: I explain what I do.
6:35pm: We have cake.
6: 50pm: Parents leave. I clean up.

So Red text means I am IT’S MY BIRTHDAY EXCITED!
Yellow text means I am kind of excited.

I was so glad to see my parents. They DEFINITELY made me "ITS MY BIRTHDAY EXCITED:)"
