APPLE SHMAPPLE

Okay you’re going to think my husband and I are cheapos, but we sort of have this unspoken agreement when we go grocery shopping.

I am a magazine hoarder.

IN-STYLE, OK, US WEEKLY, PEOPLE, SOUTHERN LIVING…

I HAVE TO HAVE ONE (Or two) EVERYTIME WE GO TO THE GROCERY STORE

I look at them for like 5 minutes and then I am over them. (BUT DON’T YOU DARE THROW ONE OF THEM AWAY!)

It’s actually very sad. You should see my guest room. You should see under my bed. You should see my restroom drawers. (Secret stash) THEY’RE TAKING OVER MY HOUSE!

My husband isn’t a moron, he knows they’re pricey and that they’ll end up all over the house after about 5 minutes.

So when we go grocery shopping, he unloads the groceries from the buggie onto the little conveyer belt while I skim through mags.

Some women look at me in disgust like, "Why isn’t she helping her husband?"

But you know, I really don’t want to unload the buggie.
My husband really doesn’t want to buy me that magazine.

So it works out.

Anyway this entry is not about me and my magazine hoarding. This is about fruit.
 

Okay so I was browsing in one of those magazines and I saw how Courtney Kardashian lists everything she eats to stay in shape.
One of her days, she listed HALF A BANANA as one of her snacks…

And there was a light in the attic.

I HATE eating fruit for snacks.
 

1. I don’t enjoy fruit.

2. They are healthy, but have loads of calories since they’re sweet.

3. I feel like I am "WASTING" alot of my calories on food that I don’t even like.

BUT… I can’t snack on cheetos all day, that’s just not healthy.
AND, I need fruit. It helps me fight off constipation!

When I am halfway through an apple, I am cheering myself on, like COME ON KARINA, YOU CAN DO THIS!

Well, who says I have to eat the WHOLE apple???

I am a little dumb like this.

That’s why my husband and I make a good team.

I am the sweet stupid one.
He is the stern smart one.
 

Tadah!

So today I brought a Gala Apple to work, and I ate half.

ONLY half the calories I would have consumed any other day.
I’m not hungry anymore.
And I didn’t almost throw up! 

Annnd I get to eat a little more at dinner tonight!
