Expound

The exponential conversations with my new friend continue. Apparently she’s determined that on average around 4000 words our conversations peak, then shrink back down. One could almost create a sine wave graph with them, it seems. My favorite quotation from Psych came up, the omnipresent "treat a woman like a person, then a princess, then a Greek goddess, and then a person again." She asked to me to explain it, since it had never felt quite like it made sense to her. I liked my answer, so I’m sharing it with you.

"A person deserves civil manners. Period. You show them respect, some interest, it varies from person to person. You know how one interacts with "persons". A princess you treat a little better, like she’s truly important to your life, spending time with her, making her feel special. A goddess you treat like she’s the only one in your life, like being alone with her creates an entire world that exists only for the two of you, she’s the one you’d do anything for, walk a thousand miles and haver for. But you can’t leave her on the pedestal, she’s still a person, a human woman who walks the earth. Take her up there, let her be each in turn and sometimes all at once. But at the end of the day, she’s still that person, and that companion again. That’s my thought on the matter, if it makes sense."

I like that. How did she react post-explanation?
