Well not quite as planned…

Taught the training class today…went ok….I’m a bit out of practice and don’t quite have the flow down but that can be corrected.  Didn’t have a chance to talk to them about the possibility of a job because they were in a meeting.  I sent them an email and confirmed my interest if they are looking to hire…we will see what happens.

So that being said, left the office, checked my email and bam…got the “thanks but no thanks” email from the job that I thought for sure I had.  The email didn’t say it but I swear it is the ‘over-qualified’ aka ‘you’re too old’ excuse but it is what it is.  Their loss — and I don’t know that I would have accepted anyway but it was, what I thought was, my solid backup.

Now the job hunt continues.  Have some online assessment for one of the positions I applied for that I have to complete.  I am debating whether to call this one recruiter back..I may but I think it is a sales type job they are trying to suck me into.

Here is the thing….when I read the email about not getting the job, I almost started bawling.  I am still on the verge.  It just doesn’t make you feel good when a job you thought you had in the basket says…nope…thanks anyway.

Oh well…that’s life.  I will find something.  If nothing else I will end up working at a store making crud money but crud is better than none.
