NoJoMo #4: Thankful

I meant to write a long entry, but I got caught up in watching Crazy Stupid Love and now it’s a quarter till midnight, and here I am rushing to write the entry before the clock turns.

We had a team meeting/team building event today where we volunteered at the Mid Ohio Food Bank. I packed boxes, I wiped down donations before they were sorted and packed, and I went through bag after bag of greens, getting rid of anything that was yellowed or bad. I jokingly complained about the back breaking work, and asked a few times whose idea it was. At the end of it all though, I was really grateful that I got to come home to my warm house, cook a dinner that I knew where it came from, and that I didn’t have to worry about going hungry. We literally packed things that I probably would have thrown in the trash here because they weren’t what I wanted.

It really put things in perspective, and for that, I am thankful.
