Catching Up
It’s been a busy month or two. Sophia started kindergarten at the end of August, and she seems to be enjoying it. The first few weeks, she came home talking about Trevor and Zachary and Ben and never any girls. She had an open house and she pointed out the pictures of the three boys and I finally asked her if she had any girl friends, and she finally pointed Kaya out to me, so at least I know she talks to one girl. She seems to be doing well, but we have a parent/teacher conference scheduled next week so I’ll find out more then.
Connor is also doing well. We finally, finally have him potty trained! He slept all week without a diaper. Yay, no more diapers until we decide to have baby number three! Maybe next year? We’re going to discuss it after the first of the year.
We want to have our credit cards and as much debt as possible paid off before we have another baby. I wish we could have it all paid off so I could afford to be a stay at home mom, but there’s just no way. We’ll have all of our cards except for one paid off by the end of the year, or at least after tax time. Then we’ll have to worry about cars, student loans, and mortgage. I hate our house, but we can’t sell it any time soon. We need to make some improvements to it though; we’re going to replace the upstairs toilet, I think, and it looks like it needs new windows and siding. It’s hard to decide what to fix though because I don’t want to over-improve for the neighborhood.
This week has been total insanity at work. I inherited the budget from the last person that did it when they got a new job. This is my first year actually going through the budgeting process. We thought we had till the end of next week, so we scheduled meetings for Thursday and planned to meet on Friday and every day until the budget was done. Well, Wednesday everybody else was out of the office. I was sitting at my desk running a report, when the man who is responsible for analyzing our budget and providing feedback showed up at my desk and asked why there was nothing populated in it. I told him we were meeting the following day and he got all huffy and said he was calling our director. Turns out it was supposed to be done on Tuesday (he had only given us the templates to do it on Thursday.)
My boss called me and asked me to get it done before I left for the day. Ok, we planned on it being a two week process, but sure, I could get it done in one day. Not. I started working on it around noon, except I really had no idea what I was doing. I sent a message to the guy that did it last year and he provided me some pointers. I worked until 7:00, when my manager stopped by the office on her way home from a meeting when she saw my car still in the parking lot. I took my computer home and continued working all through the night Wednesday night, and finally went to bed around 3:00 am.
I honestly dont’ remember Thursday. I was so tired and it was so rushed and such a blur. I spent pretty much the entire day locked in a conference room working on budget, tweaking and making changes. Afterwards, I met some friends that I used to work with downtown for drinks and dinner. I got home just in time to put the kids to bed and go to bed myself. I was in bed at 9, and up at 6 the next morning. Yesterday was also busy, so I don’t remember much of it, but we went out to happy hour last night and I got drunk pretty much as soon as I got there. I was sufficiently drunk by 5:30 and spent the next two and a half hours drinking water and eating so I could sober up.
I’m sitting here thinking of things that are wrong, that need to be adjusted. Monday is going to suck, but I think we’re nearing the end of this madness. Then I’m probably going to look for a new job. I kind of got screwed on the budget thing, and it’s been an ongoing theme with this team.
Anyway, I think we’re heading out to the store today, and probably going to not watch the OSU game this weekend. It’s too depressing to watch. I haven’t been around much, so I’m going to have to catch up on everybody. Until later.

RYN: But of course lol

RYN: Is that what you did, did your general education stuff at State and then went on to OSU? What did you go for?

RYN: I’ll have to look around at the local colleges and see what exactly is offered. Urbana is where I was thinking of going cause it’s so close to me, I know they offer a lot of nursing related things(because it seems like EVERYONE around here wants to be a nurse), but I don’t know exactly what.
