This is the last in a line of over ten reworkings I have done for this client, for an ad campaign.  I love it!

Too bad they dont…

*edit*

There are some things about this that I wanted to clarify.  It is a mockup, using an existing shot of the ring, which is not in the correct angle.  Had this ad been used, the ring would have been re-shot with this in mind.

Additionally, this is not just an engagement ring, and as such the client has never been much of a stickler for right-handedness.

That said, a little more clarification of the idea behind the ad:

Gumuchian’s tagline is "for women by women" and they market to all ages.  Therefore, it was important to keep the woman obscured.  Also, the "twinset" collection is marked by the diamond set prongs, which have to be shown.  They wanted obscured femininity, glamorous colors, and a larger than life size representation of the product.  However, the company employs a gentleman we will call "Frenchy" who friggin hates everything.  I hate frenchy.

I have re-worked ideas for these people 8475083450834586734085634586 times.  They are just impossible to please.

And yes, I drew this, in illustrator.  Of course there are a few changes I’d make to the hair, but otherwise I’m pretty happy with it.  Ads ive designed appear in magazines like Town&Country, and I really hoped this would be one of them.

🙁

It makes me want to go get a fiancee to buy that ring for me like right now. I am pretty sure that means that you’re ad serves its intended purpose. Screw Frenchie!
