hustlin’
well, happy valentine’s day, ya’ll! aaron and i always act like "ohhhh we don’t need to celebrate this day, we love each other every day!" and all that business, but usually there are little tokens of our love sprinkled throughout This Day anyway. today we actually have a work meeting together, but i scheduled it at our favorite cafe where all of our favorite desserts live. so we will have to rescue some of those desserts upon finishing our meeting, won’t we? we didn’t want to arrange a babysitter tonight and go out, but maybe on a non-holiday night we will finally get that adult night out we’ve been needing. thankfully sleep has returned to our household, so everyone is in MUCH better spirits and instead of fantasizing about sleep, i’m now fantasizing about dinner out. exciting!

work is … good. i am almost done with a project that was supposed to end last week, but they approved more hours and a longer contract, so i’m still cranking out a few things. yay for more money! i’m also working on the prep for a project that goes into the field next week, and aaron will be working on this one as well, so it will be a nice paycheck sometime in april, which is 30 days out from when this project is complete. this is the project that will take us to NJ & NY the week after next, which should be it’s own sort of interesting. in exciting news, i have a 4-day supply of milk saved up in the freezer, which should be more than enough to keep joaquin fed while i’m gone. PHEW. that was a serious accomplishment.
in really interesting news, a friend of mine runs a small agency that was selected to be on the AMC show "the pitch." they’ve asked us to participate in the pitch as their research partner. so it’s very possible that i might get to finally live out my 15 seconds of fame fantasy by perhaps being in the backgroud, or maybe even being shown SPEAKING ON CAMERA. i’m not holding my breath, but it will be fun to help them pitch the client, which shall remain nameless until the episode airs.. i think sometime in april. we’ll be filming the first week or so in march, and i think the show will be back on air to coincide with mad men. we won’t be getting paid or anything, but it has the potential for some future work with my friend’s agency, and if they actually do win the client, we might actually work on it with them. lots of "what-ifs" but it should still be fun, even if it doesn’t translate to $$.
aaron finished filming a small role for a new pilot called "S.H.I.E.L.D." and had a super fun experience with the cast and crew. if it gets picked up, we’ll likely be seeing him in it in the fall. ….stay tuned… my sister-in-law just signed on to be in a pilot for NBC called ‘bloodline,’ which sounds SUPER interesting. her dad is going to be played by jonathan banks, who you may recognize from breaking bad. so fun!
in other good news, camus had a complete physical exam last week (with bloodwork & xrays) and he’s allllll good. i’ve been a nervous nelly about getting him examined after what went down with cosette, and it was so nice to hear that he’s a healthy boy. his heart is on the bigger end of ‘normal,’ but they weren’t concerned about it at this moment. just something to keep an eye on.
there’s lots of other things perkolating, but i just realized that i have to get a lot of work done and shower before my noon meeting, so i better get to it! CHOP CHOP!
woo hoo how exciting!! 🙂

I hope The Pitch works out for ye! Has Aaron heard anything about SHEILD? I hear Joss Whedon is pretty good to work with. “Adult time”? I don’t know about you guys, but for me, that means playing Borderlands 2 on Xbox.
