– our remodeing project is ahead of schedule and should potentially be done by the end of the week, and then we can move back in!  hurray!
– we bought a VOLVO XC90 this past weekend (!?!?)  it’s HUGE compared to the audi A4 we traded in for it, but I ventured out in it all by my lonesome yesteday and actually quite enjoyed driving it   ~  it looks like this:

– by "quite enjoyed" i mean, i felt like A MOMMA driving it.  It has three rows of seats and it has a jillion airbags (or so I’m told).  all it needs now is a "baby on board" sign so i have an excuse for driving like an old person once the boy arrives
– we’ve almost completed registering for STUFF just in time for two baby showers in minnesota on june 23rd & june 24th.   also, my los angeles baby shower is august 5th, in case you were wondering?   feels like a LOT of showers, but i’m very excited to show everyone how i look with 20+ lbs attached to my front side.
– aaron bought a book and insists on reading it every night to the boy.  "oh the places you will go"  – a book to be read in utero.   it’s adorable how sweet he is about it.    makes me melt every time
– we started our ‘bradley method’ birth classes last week.  it’s a series of 12 (one per week) and so far we like it a lot.    i have to do a bunch of daily exercises, including some relaxation techniques, and aaron ‘gets’ to help.   it’s also super informative and helpful.

We feel like we’ve accomplished A LOT in the past week or so and are starting to feel more prepared.   but there’s still A LOT to do.. good thing I still have 14 weeks and 2 days (or so)  to get things ready!    I have my glucose screening test on wednesday morning, which will let me know if I need to take a more in-depth test to determine if i have gestational diabetes or not.   fingers crossed that the screening goes well so that i don’t have to take the other test, and fingers crossed that i don’t have GD ….

in work news, i have at least one trip to NY scheduled, and will potentially be traveling again to Minneapolis, Chicago or Boston.  Then, I might have a project in SF.    BUT THEN.   i’m planning a BABYMOON towards the end of july and then I *THINK* I will be done traveling until we meet our boy.     I CAN’T WAIT TO BE DONE TRAVELING!     but i also love that work is busy and business IS GOOD.   so you willl not hear me complain at all.

what else?    oh!  heading to palm desert for a lady weekend on Friday and I’m fully prepared with a fat lady swimsuit and a large brimmed hat.     excited doesn’t even begin to describe how i feel about this weekend…

hope everyone is having a fabulous monday morning….   😉

EEEP! This is all so exciting and I just can’t wait to see pictures of your belly creature. I don’t mean creature in a disparaging way, as you know. Just the word that popped out. With you two supermodels as parents, he’s going to be posing for Baby Gap and have a modelling portfolio in no time. You will post picture here for us OD creeps to see…yes?

Cool! Sounds like everything is coming along nicely. Contractor ahead of schedule? What magic did you work? 😉

ryn: thanks! and i just refer to “it” as “he” simply because i hate calling my baby it haha. and i feel like “he” flows better than “she.” and also, i’m weird.
