pause.

life has been OUT OF CONTROL busy and it’s only now that aaron is on a jetplane via jetblue to nyc for a few days that i’m actually taking a moment of introspection and a much-needed pause in life.

taking stock:

for the past week we’ve been watching my brother-in-law’s dog (daisy).  and then a few days ago we also started watching my mother-in-law’s dog (lucy). total dogs currently under my watch:   4     
we watch lucy until 5/26
we watch daisy until 6/5 

in two days, our long-awaited construction begins on our loft.  this will increase our total footage, add a nursey and make lots of storage space.   this excites/thrills/scares me.    we get to stay at my brother-in-law’s until 6/5 when they return from their european adventure, but the work is likely going to be still happening after that.  we could continue to stay here, but i’m not sure that will work from a sanity perspective.   BUT ANYWAY.    OUR NURSEY will be built!   MORE CLOSETS!    MORE SPACE!     GAH!   the next time i see my house it will be brand new-ish!

WORK HAS BEEN INSANE.   we have basically made the same amount of money in 6 months that we made in 12 last year.  GRANTED, I joined the company at the beginning of April, so there were 9 months of activity vs. 12 for me personally, but STILL.    we are on track to double what we made last year.

HOWEVER.   our sanity has taken a severe beating.  i have had more than a few breakdown-ish moments in the past few weeks and while i’d like to blame pregnancy hormones, really, the stress transcends that.     i am really really really looking forward to putting a halt to my traveling obligations somewhere in the beginning of july when i make my final pre-baby flight to MN.  and then!   i bought a gift certificate to this place for a suite two-night deal and it shall be just what the dr. ordered.

so.  things that i’m looking forward to in the near future include:

registering for baby goods 
HOLIDAY WEEKEND
90-minute massage
hair appointment
girls getaway weekend in palm springs
liana’s wedding
baby shower(s)  (3 of them!  2 in MN!)
trip to NY
trip to SF
trip to MN
