Wednesday

I don’t really want to talk about today.  Everything is fine, I just don’t really want to recount it.

I stopped at ALDI on my way home today.  A woman in front of me was caught with a bunch of stuff stashed in one of her bags.  I was only a few people from the front, and the manager spoke with her about how she’d caught her previously and it had to stop.  They took everything off her and she had to leave.  That made me feel a bit sad – if you have to shoplift from a discount supermarket, things must be pretty bleak.

I managed to get my fingerprints taken at the police station, after stopping at two different stations.  I need to get an AFP police check and send it to the US consulate, but I hadn’t realised that I need to scan and send copies of my identification documents.  I feel like such an idiot for not thinking about that, I guess I had assumed that the police officer checking my identification for the fingerprints would have been enough.  Anyway.  Tomorrow night I will be able to apply.

I spoke with one of my brother’s today about getting a truck to help us move, and he thinks he will be able to borrow one from a friend.  I said that I am happy to pay if the friend wants cash, even just for the fuel.  The kind of truck I would want to rent would be $180 and a pain in the ass to try and get returned within the time limits.

Do you guys realise that it’s only SEVENTEEN days until we will be safely tucked away at mother’s house?  That feels pretty amazing right now.  SEVENTEEN MEASLY LITTLE DAYS.
