Went to Amsterdam yesterday to see Kate, which was pretty fun. met some of her boyfriend’s friends too, and we all went out and had a good smoke, ate waffles and other sugary things, then had a paranoid awkward nap on the train ride home.

Going to Bread and Butter this week, a denim trade fair in berlin. Very excited, it’s the first time I’ve gone. They’re putting us up in a really nice hotel, taking us out for dinner, there’s parties thrown by brands in the evenings, and our allowance for meals is so generous. There’s definitely some perks to this job.

And I finally got to see my illustrations on one of the new hangtags!

It’s cool that my drawings will be hanging on garments sold all over the globe. They’re just for the men’s premium line but they also want me to do drawings for the rest of the men’s and women’s lines too! Sometimes, I get to work from home doing the drawings, so I get to sit on the sofas, watching films and drawing all day, and getting paid for it. Ahhhh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my job.

Hmmmm…. What else is new… Mat has a job, he’s working in a supermarket that only sells English food and products, and everyone only speaks English. It’s a two hour train journey to get there but it was the only job he was offered so for now it’ll have to do. He needs just any job so that he can get properly registered and have an official Belgian ID card, so as soon as the mountain of paperwork has gone through, he can look for something a little closer to home.

I went out on Friday night to the MAS museum by the docks, since there was a big outdoor party going on there. During the summer in Antwerp, there’s lots of free festivals that pop up all around the city and prior to that, they hold a series of parties at different waterside locations in the run up to the festivals. There’s always something to do here. But it gets a bit cold and depressing in the winter.

Well, I think that’s all I have to say really… I wish I had some dramatic secret that i could slowly reveal over a series of diary entries to keep all of you riveted, on the edges of your seats. Alas, no juicy secrets here.
