Devastation
Hey everyone. Well…the last few weeks have been pretty damn hectic.
Right now I am sitting in some rinky dink library in Columbus, Texas. I had to fly into Houston because the New Orleans Airport was closed due to the hurricane. Kasi and I found a Holiday Inn about 78 miles outside of Houston and now that is where we are staying until we can get into town. Well until Saturday anyways.
Monday we will be allowed back into our Parish with ID to gather some belongings and then we cannot return for at least a month. We don’t know what our house looks like. We don’t even know if we have a house. The hurricane hit as a category 4 and if any of you pay attention the news..you can see how bad New Orleans looks. We are just praying that the few things that we have worked hard for is still there and in tact, and we are praying for the people who lost everything…or lost their family members.
I never thought I could feel this helpless. We have been here since Sunday and it’s just so hard not knowing what everything looks like and not knowing if your dwelling is ok or not.
I went to California last week to try to mellow out and get away from some stress for a little while, just to worry about htis and worry about how I was going to get home.
My trip to Cali wasn’t even that swell. I ended up getting into a huge fight with my mother and her crazy b/f. All over something that was freakin ridiculous. My moms b/f ended up choking myself and my brother and my brother was trying to defend myself and himself. The police were called and I have yet to hear from my mom.
The past couple of weeks have been hard. I just want to be in my home..with my bed. Now I don’t know when I will be able to return to work or even if my work still exist. Its hard right now…very hard.
Girl I am so glad that you updated I was worried about you. I am just so glad you’re safe. That is crazy about your mom’s boyfriend. Sweetie I’m so sorry. That is so frightening. 🙁 *big hugs*

let us know if there is anything we can do. i can’t even imagine that kind of helplessness. by the way, i don’t know if you’re familiar with the rainbow world fund (www.rainbowworldfund.org), but it’s a charity fund connected to hrc that raises money for all kinds of issues. they are working on relief for katrina victims right now.
