Sample Delivered for SA

Still waiting for the mammogram. Fun. It’ll be fine though. And I ordered bioplast nipple rings that are suppose to be X-ray & surgery safe. I was able to get the old nipple rings out (they’ve been in there since I got them pierced like 8 years ago & took pliers to remove). So I can take them out if needed or the material should be good.

Ty finally gave me his sample for his SA today. It’s been a pain in the ass to fit in as there were so many requirements. You have to abstain 2-3 days but not more than 5. Sample has to be dropped off within 10 minutes of collection. Can only be dropped off between 7a-2p M-F. All complicated considering he works those hours, won’t drop it off himself & was being a crybaby about it. He finally agreed to do it today & told his boss he needed to be off at 1 or he’d just give his wife the bosses number. In the end his boss decided it was way too much info & he could have any time off e needed. So, I spent my lunch hour racing the sample to the hospital. (I made it.)

Called my doctor & he got me in at 10 am next Thursday to go over the results & decide on the next step. He figured he’d have the results by then at the latest. So, I guess we wait for that. It’s it crazy I’m more stressed over this than the lump. Ugh. So many possibilities. If its him he may need a urologist appointment depending on what the results are. And it’ll be even harder to get him to that than the SA sample. And if its me. Sigh. I don’t even want to think about it. It sounded like the top of his list was a test to see if tubes were blocked. (Can an OB really do this much testing? Or will that all involve an RE referral?) Have I mentioned that my insurance doesn’t cover infertility so it will all have to be coded as something else or pay out of pocket. Lame. And this means I should probably resume the dreaded temping, charting, peeing on opks tomorrow as the more I do at home is the less I’ll have to do there.  It’ll all be worth it in the end. Right?

Hope it all works out. Ouch to the pliers!

My OB did all of the testing: ultrasound for ovary checks, SA for hubby, blood work, HSG (to check for blocked tubes), and medicated/monitored cycles. My insurance covers nothing fertility related either, but he was able to code everything some way in order to get them to pay (except the medication, of course). Hopefully things work out just as well for you.
