Funny, That

It’s amusing how we sometimes come into information – especially information that I’m sure certain people didn’t want me to know.

Ironically, I was listening to a podcast earlier in the week by the Atheist Experience and one of the subjects they were talking about in the realm of psychic ability was a person’s “intuition.” That word has an automatic negative reaction in my mind simply because of the way it’s previously been twisted by some. But according to this study that was compiled in 2004-2005ish by Harvard or some other comparable college, those that claim a heightened intuition or who claimed to be able to distinguish when someone was lying to them were 50% more likely to be incorrect when confronted with a challenge of their abilities. When people claiming no special or heightened intuitive sense were presented with the same challenge/question they were 50% more likely to get it right. I find that humorous, ironic and uproariously funny.

Incidentally also, when someone makes a vast, sweeping claim about someone else to specifically point out the fact that they’re NOT thinking about them, it kind of defeats the purpose. If you go out of your way to write or talk about how much someone is not on your mind, isn’t that the exact opposite of what you’re claiming?

Oh, and getting questioned or checked up on by a third party is simply tacky.

How fucking arrogant, self-centered and narcissistic ARE you? You know nothing about me, my life or my situation. Trust me, with a wedding in less than two weeks and a relationship with someone I actually love (oh, and you know how you told me I would never be able to be faithful to anyone? Not so much) I have a lot more to do than sit around thinking about someone like you. Get over yourself and get a real life. You’re changing, growing and becoming a better person – at least you say so. Why don’t you try backing that up with some actual growth and stop talking about it. I had to – it didn’t come easy but it was sure worth it. Do it already.
