Weekend etc

Hey folks,

Had a really good weekend actually! After my strop on Thursday night I sulked on Friday and Mike came home at Friday lunchtime to work from home and pacify me! It worked…especially as he had fab news….he’s been headhunted by an advertising agency in the city and offered a £10,000 payrise!!

£10,000!!!!!

Ker-chiiiiiiing! Pounds signs have appeared in my eyes!! We’ll have an extra £500 a month which will be VERY helpful with me still on maternity leave!

WOOHOOO!

We had a lovely Friday night snuggled up on the sofa with a glass of wine, watching TV. We also *whispers* did the deed (2nd time since I gave birth) and it was MUCH better this time round…..it stung like hell the first time. So that made me cheery. Things are returning to normal.

We went to to Bristol on Saturday and Mike and I had another mega argument. I went off with 3 of my girly mates for a bridesmaid dress fitting-I’m a bridesmaid for my friend Sarah in June (memo to self: lose excess weight before then, esp. tyre round middle) and Mike was left looking after William with the boys (the girl’s boyfriends). When we got back to the house after the fitting the boys were nowhere to be seen. Turns out they had taken William for a walk in the park. Mike was carrying him in the sling on his front, William facing outwards. Fine…except when they got back I realised William wasn’t wearing a coat or a hat. I was FURIOUS. It was chilly and windy outside and his little face, hands and feet were freezing. He was pale and looked shellshocked. I flipped and we had a big row. Mike is a great dad but he just doesn’t think sometimes.

We’ve had more arguments since William was born than in the whole 7 years we’ve been together. It’s ridiculous. I think we really to spend some quality time together…..tomorrow night is the night! My mum and dad are babysitting and we’re going to Windsor for a meal. Somewhere romantic. I can’t WAIT-I’m going to stuff myself silly!- but I feel a bit nervous about leaving him. I know he’ll be absolutely fine but still…..

Ugh. I have to do some washing up. Fun! See you later folks!
