I recognize everyone’s right to voice their own opinion and experiences on Open Diary. I also understand that some writers are petty with nothing else to do, and that from time to time they may leave nasty notes or try to fan flames within my own diary. I will respond to these no more then once as everyone has the right to defend themselves. I will then move on with my life and should they leave another note, I may laugh about it in an entry but I will not mark their diary again with my words.

If someone flames a friend’s diary I will defend my friend. I will not attack the note leaver for anything but the issue. I will do this once and then I will respect my friend enough to let them handle it themselves.

I will not start an OD war. I will voice my opinion in a mature and respectful manner. Everyone has a right to their on opinions and they may state their opinions. I may not agree with them, but it’s not worth my time to make an issue out of it.

It may be crude, but I think it covers everything. If we want a rich community, we need to protect our rights to express ourselves but still respect others. I’ve seen these battlefields littered with those ranging from teens to the elderly. Must we rob the cradle and the grave to get our points across? Must WE be right? Down with the war I say! Let us live and write in peace. Open Diary is a haven for many people, an outlet and a way to connect with some wonderful people. Let’s not lose that.
