i concur also. I think it’s bad publishing etiquette not to blurb some kind of information. Blurbs are good! It keeps people away when there’s no blurby goodness.

A-freakin-men… If I can’t find a blurb about the plot, I don’t pursue it any further. I don’t care if the cover contains endorsements from Shakespeare, Hemingway and J. Christ himself.

You tell ’em! That’s even more annoying than the books that start with eight or ten pages of reviews for either the novel in your hands or other novels by the same author. If I still needed a review of the book in my hands it wouldn’t be in my hands! If the book’s any GOOD I’ll look up books by the same author. Get ON with it! (That’s a huge pet peeve of mine because I’m the type of person who actually READS stuff like Forwards/Author’s Notes/The Author Wishes To Thank/Etc. and I’ll get two pages into the reviews before I realize I’m wasting my time.) *hehehe* To get back on topic… unless I’m already familiar with the author (in which case I don’t need the reviews to sell me on the latest book) I need a blurb about the plot! I CAN’T go into a book cold-turkey, just like I can’t watch a movie without SOME idea what I’m getting into. I need a mind-set to spring-board from so I’m in the right ‘mood’ for the adventure inside. Another pet peeve: A summary that’s misleading. For example, don’t make me think it’s a creepy ghost story and then not deliver any ghosts! Don’t make it sound like an adventure on the moon and then never leave the ground! (

Yes! Most of the time when that happens, and I’m not quite willing to shell out the money for a book I know nothing about, I’ll go home and scope out the synopsis on Goodreads and then buy it – or not. Reviews rarely tell me if I’ll like the book; only that the reviewer did or didn’t.
