Question for pumping moms.
So, my pump is back up and in working order.
My goal right now is to pump 1 or 2 times everyday until I go back to work, to build up a supply.
I figure it’ll be good to have extra on hand, along with signalling my body to produce more than what Mason is taking right now,
to compensate for any potential supply drop when I do go back to work.
Is this a good idea?
(I never pumped with Xavier. He never got a bottle. So this is all new to me…)
I figure I’ll pump three times during my 8 hour work day. I don’t think I could add in anymore than that.
I get 2 fifteen minute breaks and 1 thirty minute lunch.
My superviser just had a baby and nursed for a little while (she had supply issues, but I never saw her pump at work…), so she’s supportive of my returning to work and pumping.
What about cleaning pumping supplies while I’m at work. Is it okay to just rinse everything with hot water in between nursings, and then when I get home wash and sterilize everything? Or do I need to lug around enough sets of everything to cover 3 pumping sessions?
Any tips and tricks from a successful pumping mama?
Anything would be wonderful. 🙂
