Nursing School – Update
Dear Diary:
Last night we meet a level 3 nursing student who had our professor for level 1. He said that same thing that the other students and ratemyprofessor.com have said. She is a witch and evil when it comes to tests. He said there will be people in tears by the end of the semester and that if you pass the class with a C, you will be happy. Sigh. More pressure. He gave us some questions that he remember from level 1 and even some advanced stuff. I did well in answering his questions and he said I was ready for level 2. Ha! Each class it becomes more apparent how lucky I am with the EMT background. Let’s hope it translates to her tests.
Tonight we are doing validations (practical test) on handwashing, moving patients and restraints. We also have a movie on vital signs and a lecture on infection control. The class continues to go pretty quick though I wish my fellow students would stop with their "stories" and asking questions that will be more prudent for later in the semester. They are just holding up the class. The thread on allnurses.com that talks about what you want to say to your fellow students is so true and funny!
i wanted to strangle the chatty cathies in nursing school. one girl in my class knew someone that had every freakin disease process that we ever talked about. one of our teachers finally commented that the girl must have some strange looking friends. in my opinion those stories can be saved for office hours. i just wanted to learn the material and then leave early if possible.

As a teacher, websites like ratemyprofessor terrify me. I hope we never have anything like that in the UK.
