2013 starting out well…
So we got moved into our new place Dec 29. Picked up some KFC and built a fire…..a nice relaxing night because we were both exhausted.
Found a bed at good will and picked it up on the 31st. So New Years Eve we stayed home. Had a nice spread of shrimp cocktail, mini beef wellingtons, cheese, salami and various other finger foods…a huge spread for just two people. After a couple white russians, we started playing quarters sitting on the floor lol. I ended up drunk as a skunk. We had our new years kiss and then our new years sex then I fell asleep. Woke up the next morning sick as a dog. Ended up not being able to eat until like 6pm the New Years Day…but it was all good.
So since then we have been working on unpacking and getting things put away. Last night we took a break from it all and just went and had margaritas and mexican food. Went home, watched some documentary about the Grizzly Man (the guy was crazy!) and then crashed at 9:20pm. I was like we are so old lol.
So the New Year started in the new place with my crazy man I love.
Then Wednesday night, the boss from my little contract side job calls and offers me the ability to work from home (which is where I work for them anyway) full time with benefits….for more money than I make at my day job. Hell yeah. So I have to get insurance rates to send them…they can’t insure me on their plan because it doesn’t cover the state I am in but they are going to give me a stipend for it…just have to find him some quotes. If they can get me some by the end of the day, I am going to call the boss tonight and take him up on the offer.
Yes I always said I loved my job. I do like my job but am not happy with the direction the company is taking. I wanted to work here because it was a small company that focused on small/medium sized customers and were all about customer satisfaction. They are now trying to take on bigger and bigger clients that we aren’t quite able to handle — and not increasing the support department. People are too stressed out here…I look at my list of open tickets I have and it stresses me every day.
The other job, that I am going to take, has almost no stress. I have worked with them since 2003 so I know the people well…they will never grow to be much larger than they are….but they also have a stable business…well as long as the boss is there. I have to prove my worth because if he ever leaves, they may decide they don’t need a remote employee lol. But no commute to work, no worrying about dress code, no co-workers to deal with daily…
I hated working from home before..I am a chatty person and I like having people to talk to. That being said, I now have a man that wants to go out and do things and I would be able to come up and go to lunch with my former co workers whenever I want….so I think it will be ok.
So that’s it for now….2013 starting off with the new man in a new place and a new job….13 was always my lucky number 😛
